Ha ha, interesting review, but I am still planning to buy this game.

I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)

Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)

I notice that he was a little lighter on this game then he usually is. But overall it still made me laugh.

Haha, i mostly agree. Although it is just all sorts of fun. Sometimes games don't need to be the ones that are going to be on the "Best 100 games of all time list."

Sometimes, just being fun is actually better then being innovative.

He's right on regarding the difficulty in this game. Way too many instances of "hey there's a monster and oh he already hit me before I could do jack shit."

Haha i loved this review, obviously he was a bit too harsh but he was really correct on the stupid checkpoints. Thats the only thing thats not making me continue to play the game...
and yeah the story of resident evil isn't the best thing ever but really in gaming there are only fiew games and series which can say they have a really good story

1.-Killing own staff
2.-Make zombies
3.-Get city nuked
4.-Legal proceedings
5.-Bankarrupcy
...
6.-Profit

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

The major problem is that he barelly talk about the gameplay in his reviews. 90% of the jokes are aimed at the game plot or ridiculous concepts. Following his logic, the original Mario Bross is a game about a fat plumber addicted to mushrooms killing defenseless turtles.

I can not understand how find RE plot lame and at the same time praise SH 2 plot. It would be like Stalin saying Pol Pot is an asshole. Why pretend games can have plots as good as literature classics? That is why games should be fun to play above all else.

Awesome review, as always. I'll still be eventually buying the game, of course, but he's right about the hilariously awful story of the RE games, and how cliche the characters are. That said, it sounds like he actually enjoyed the game a bit, difficulty issues aside, because he didn't really focus on much more than the story/characters.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Actually, each game in the Silent Hill series usually has a damn good story. (Well, except for 3.) The first game was already good enough that they made pretty much the only good video game movie ever made out of it, and 2 is even better. (And 4 is even better than 2, despite some horrible design decisions that pretty negatively impact the rest of the game.)

Resident Evil's story is the equivalent of a 1950s 'B' movie: horrible when taken seriously, and with no real artistic value, but at least decently entertaining when you just laugh along with it.
