Instead of copy pasting the whole article.....you could have just provided a snip so that people actually have to click the link

btw the whole article is based on a few threads we had here the last weeks, it even mentions vgchartz numbers. seems like the guy just read the threads and put all complaints together in one article^^

Actually, it is a pretty big coincidence. I included links to pretty much everywhere I got my info....EA is just a hot topic at the moment....I didn't even know they had their earnings report released yesterday. It all just....worked out. What really got me to write the article was the tweet from the technical director.....the straw that broke the camel's back if you will. If the 360 can run Frostbite 3, there is absolutely no reason the Wii U can't....especailly when it runs CryEngine 3 "beautifully", runs Disrupt 3 (Watch Dogs, ACIV?), and it can run Unreal 4 (even if Epic wants to be dickish about it).

What a fantastic article. Brilliantly composed. I've said it on here before, one of these gaming journalists needs to interview one of the top bods from EA and ask them straight out what's been going on and not let them finish and leave the interview until they get a proper answer. Handcuff the fucker to a chair if necessary lol.

Great article that sums it all up. Too many people are believing this fiction that it has anything to do with sales, when it clearly started BEFORE Wii U even launched and is a more personal issue about some fallout in negotiations.

At first the only game I thought I would be affected by was BF4, but now I will likely have to miss out on some good SW games too.

Doesn't matter tho. No more EA games for me until they change.

Excellent article, Ricard,

To further raise ire with the technical director and the Frostbite 3 engine, their issue seems to stem from the clock rate the Wii U's CPU. Similar to how the Dynasty Warriors developer had a problem with the CPU clock.

What makes me wonder is how they plan to port the Frostbite 3 engine over to the PS4 and Next X given that they too have lower clock speeds than the current HD consoles (both rated at 3.2 Ghz)?

Clock speed has been THE main issue for any developer that has complained about the Wii U's CPU or performance or power, etc... Yet that same clock speed issue is staring them in the face for ALL next generation consoles.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

off topic does anyone who the next CEO of EA is? I'm assuming it that freak Peter moore.

Larry Probst is the interim CEO.

A fitting German proverb: "Wer den Pfennig nich ehrt ist des Talers nicht wert"

-> They would deserve to be bitched to death by their investors for missing out on potential sales (it would be basically impossible for them NOT to make money off a simple port)...

That's precisely the biggest problem EA and others may face in the not so distant future, they are putting all their eggs on very few baskets (Madden. FIFA, Battlefield) and if for whatever reason they have a problem with one of those baskets... they'll be screwed.

Althouhg it's not the same, we just have to look at Square-Enix. They sold several millions copies of Tomb Raider, Hitman and Sleeping Dogs and yet they posted a loss, blaming those games for not selling enough. Yes, EA has more better-selling franchises, but it's also a lot bigger and consequently need a lot more money to keep afloat.

Be careful, EA, your actions of today may come back and bite you in the butt tomorrow.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

The only reason why EA still made a profit is because of FIFA and Madden (FIFA 13 sold 14 million units iirc). Without those franchises they will probably be in the same position as Square.

I'm not buying anything from EA anymore. I, as a consumer, have nothing else to say on the subject.
