Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo's E3 Conference is Dead, Long Live the Wii U Software Showcase!

I wonder if they'll show something related to Zelda WiiU (not Wind Waker HD, I'm sure this one will be playable)

How are you going to hyper-hype this E3, Smeags?!

Smeags man, people would want to see the other half of that avatar, the Japanese version!

So Nintendo is going the Hors d'oeuevre's approach rather than one big meal I guess.

wouldnt it be great if they let wii u owners download those demos that are going to be playable at e3 this year... I mean it would be a great way to thank early adopters upset by lack of 1st party games, and at the same time it keeps attention away from MS and Sony.

This would "win" E3 for me. It wouldn't even matter what Sony and MS just showed because Nintendo would be letting us play the games. They would have trailers and impression videos......but the gamers would have their hands on the games. I don't have a 3DS so correct me if I'm wrong.....but didn't Nintendo do something like this last year with the 3DS at E3?

Also, Iwata said "Apart from these exclusive events for visitors, we are continuing to investigate ways to deliver information about our games directly to our home audience around the time of E3."  He mentioned Nintendo Direct, and we all know that is how they are going to announce things.....so why make this statement?

It gives me hope that they will have the E3 demos on the eShop, if only a couple and not all of them. It is very optimistic and has a high potential of not being true, so I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. I'll be happy just watching the videos over and over again.

PIcture this:

At the end of the software showcase briefing Reggie says something to the likes of: "Well friends of the media and gaming enthusiasts, we really hope you like out humble Nintendo booth at this e3 year... also fans around the world watching this can enjoy this same experiences just by going to the wiiu Eshop at the end of this presentation and downloading all this wonderfull demos... We really hope you enjoy it and have a great E3" end audince gasp....

Will it happen?? Unlikely... A man can dream though...

It's certainly going to be a challenge, as I'm sure there's going to be a Nintendo Direct announced close to the conference. But I'm gonna drive this hype train until we crash and burn baby!

@dahuman

I'm such a tease. ^_~

Should be a lot of great info from this. Can't wait for the NDs leading up to E3 to start... please be this Thursday...

I think it's a bit easier to picture Iwata saying in a Nintendo Direct, "I hope you have enjoyed our announcements for this fall on the WiiU. Over the coming days, Nintendo will be bringing the demos we will have available at E3 to you at home, Directly *Iwata Direct hand motion*. Please understand that these games are not in their final form and some aspects may change before release. Thank you for watching *Iwata waves*"

My jaw would drop and then I would go over to my Wii U and start downloading anything I could. The rest of E3 might as well not even exist at that point. *sigh* If only....

Yep. I believe they have been so far, with the one exception of last E3s WiiU ND that was on the Sunday before E3.
