I think they should switch to different Gods. Perhaps a mixture of ancient Gods and modern Gods. That would be sweet....

Sure, just not any time soon. Maybe a good 3 years into the new gen and then they can start talking about a sequel or possibly a reboot to the series.

Santa Monica is big and they already make a new ip ( stigs team).

An dthe god of war team is likely making a god of war 4. So to answer your question yes i want a god of war 4.

Jesus as the final boss!

OT: I would say yes. I want a new game, but I might not like the new game like I like GoW.

Well yes please. It's one of my favourite Ip's and hack n' slash being in my top 3 favourite genres, with Kratos being the biggest badass in the modern gaming industry.

My take on the God of War situation. We still have Artemis and Apollo as living Gods worthy an awesome boss fight, a Hecantonchires - Cottus the Striker or the Furious, I bet there are some living Titans, and a few heroes and villians like Achilles for a smaller, more skill-based boss fights, plus I'm sure they could find some enormously huge land, see, sky creatures. We also have the Primordials. So there still are very worthy foes for another game in the Greek/Kratos theme. For another trilogy? Well I'm afraid not.

As for the story, I'm sure they would come up with something good, like Artemis and Apollo eager for revenge on Kratos after him killing their family members, making them the main enemies etc. and they still have the Mirrors of Destiny that gives them huge opportunities, they have ended GoW3 with a cliffhanger (literally) so there are still ways to continue.

I my opinion GoW4 could benefit from a PS4 release, mostly on it's technological side. Better graphics, solid 60fps framerate (yeah right...), even bigger, more epic setpieces that the franchise is notable for with even more scope. Yeah well, that could a marvel that I would definately want to see.

But I also think that SSM made several mistakes managing the franchise in my opinion. First one is: releasing the HD collections, and then recycling them to death in bundles, sagas etc. etc. During whole PS3 lifecycle we only had one GoW game, and from 2010 mind you, until this years march, but I felt like we had a new God of War release every half a year! God of War Collection, God of War Origins Collection, Collections dual pack, God of War Saga, Omega etc. the series felt milked even though we only had one full-flegded PS3 game.
Then there is God of War: Ascension, which is one of my favourite maybe even favourite in the series, hard to say. But it didn't push the story any further, didn't push the hardware that much further then they did with GoW3, they didn't place it in arguably more interesting time - before Kratos had his deal with Ares, when he was a human Sparta general, to show us his story's true origins. The only thing groundbreaking was introducing the multiplayer and kudos for that. But I think it would have been better as a Vita title. They still could do everything they done: push the hardware, introduce multiplayer, make a prequel on the Vita and it would probably be a very good system seller, that the Vita would greatly beneft from and the sales may not have been that much worse, because it would be a game to buy for the Vita and tie-ratio would could be very high.

To conclude, I would love another classic GoW game on the PS4, but I don't see a possibility for another trilogy in that theme, so releasing only one game doesn't make much sense in my opinion. What they should do is put Kratos to rest at least for some time, make a reboot in another theme, with tweaked gameplay, maybe fully controlable camera etc. with a subtitle, if they want to keep the God of War name or only stick to making new IP's.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I want a GOW reboot. New character (kratos is shit), new mythology

The God of War series should have ended in the middle of GoW 2. When playing GoW 3 I was literally falling asleep - that game has NO drive. Obviously I had no interest in Ascension and no interest in any more sequel(s).

WHAT?!! where do you think GoW should have ended in GoW2?

Wouldn't mind it, but would prefer a new IP

There is only one reason I can rest myself to sleep at night, and that is by giving thought to the idea that Kratos will have a chance to butcher all the remaining gods.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

We'll definitely see it on the PS4 and possibly the Vita. I've always thought a Demios spin-off on the Vita would be pretty cool.
