2001



The original Xbox is released in North America, marking Microsoft’s entry into the console gaming industry and selling over one million consoles in the first three weeks.

HALO
2001



Halo: Combat Evolver launches and quickly becomes the standard against which all first-person shooters will be measured.  Halo centers on the experiences of human super-soldier Master Chief John-117 and his AI companion, Cortana.

PROJECT GOTHAM RACING
2001



With city-based circuits in San Francisco, London, Tokyo, and New York City, Project Gotham Racing quickly becomes the second best-selling Xbox game after Halo: Combat Evolved.

Unlike its racing game predecessors, skill is as important as speed in Project Gotham Racing.  Advancement depends upon acquiring Kudos points as much as winning races.

XBOX IN EUROPE
2002



The original Xbox launches in the United Kingdom and Europe.

XBOX LIVE
2002



The first online gaming network that allows live online multiplayer and voice chat with friends premieres in North America.  Four months after launch, Xbox LIVE already has 350,000 subscribers.

TOM CLANCY”S SPLINTER CELL
2002

PROJECT GOTHAM 2

XBLA
2004



Xbox LIVE Arcade (XBLA) launches, marking the beginning of digital distribution on the Xbox platform.  Gamers install the service via a disc ordered from the Microsoft website or packaged with the retail games such as Forza.  Early Arcade hits include Bejewed, Bankshot Billiards and Smash TV.

2005



The successor to the highly successful Xbox, the Xbox 360 is released worldwide, launching in 36 countries in its first year – more than any console to date.  The new console brings next generation HD graphics and new entertainment options to users, selling over 75 million units.

Call of Duty 2

The battle of WWII are seen through the perspectives of four soldiers in this popular first-person sequel.  Many features are added and changed from the original Call of Duty, including regenerating health and an expanded scope of combat.  Critical and commercial praise lead to sales of 250,000 units with the first week.

XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE

Beginning with the release of the Xbox 360, Xbox LIVE Arcade re-launches as part of the Xbox Marketplace, a more robust service for the Xbox LIVE users.  In addition to Xbox Arcade, there is the Video Marketplace where users can download movies, TV shows, game trailers and movie trailers.  Game demos and downloadable content such as map packs, dashboard themes and avatars are also available for download.

I was having a problem viewing this page as well as the last page on Kinect Adventures to be a 20 million seller.  I made a thread about it a while ago because certain pages wont show up.  Two things I noticed.  You was on every page I couldnt view :P  Once I hid signatures I could then view the page so i think there is something in your signature that is keeping me from viewing pages that you comment on.
