Wow at the reactions from some Nintendo fans.
Sorry troll whisperer, I won't get along with those kids, no can do

The funny thing is that what made me start this thread was a similar argument that started the other way around, with someone saying WiiU is doing worse than Vita. :(  I didn't want to bash the WiiU at all.

I think they are at an earlier stage of the 7 stages of grief. Most Vita fans already hit "acceptance". XD

But whatever, let's just enjoy our games.

Well, on this site a post that brought up Vita as in similar problems in a WiiU-doom-thread was reported for Vita-trolling, so some Sony-fans are not yet over it. But generally the Sony-fans by now are more accepting of the fate, I agree.

I don't agree to that.

But locking them in doesn't solve the issue :)

Fact remains though that the Vita is facing a much worse situation. Handhelds are expected to sell more units and end up with a much lower software tie ratio. Selling on par with Wii U hardware-wise is not a good sign for the system. And ending up selling N64 numbers would be a disaster for a handheld.

I'm sorry, but that's complete sophistry.  What are your sources for "handhelds are expected to sell more"?  If the Vita was $99, sure, but its price tag isn't far off from the Wii U.  Publishers and developers have also been very happy with software sales on the Vita.  There might not be that many systems out there but the people who own them buy games, enough that Ubisoft is happy, Japanese publishers have been happy, and indie developers are telling other indie developers that the Vita is the place to be.  Muramasa Rebirth has already hit 100k units on the Vita.  Is the Wii U as much of a success for third party game sales?

It seems like you're just raising expectations for the Vita and lowering them for the Wii U for your own purposes.

Funny enough a list of possible suspects of that person u were arguing with came to mind.

The Wii U has little to no chances of "selling well"?

No Wii Sports, no Wii Play, no Wii Fit, no 3D Mario, no Zelda, no Metroid, no Super Smash Bros., no Mario Party, no Animal Crossing and not even a Mario Kart title has arrived yet. And you are already certain that the Wii U has low chances of selling well?

That's nice, I guess.

I mean, if well means N64 numbers then it's possible. That's why I wrote "well" with quote marks. It's not like those franchises made the N64 or GC sell gangbusters. The Wii series is an uncertainty but we'll see.

And Vita also has chances of selling N64 numbers anyway.

What it comes down to is that we should stop fighting about these two beacuse they're both a disaster. Vita is a disaster. WiiU is a disaster.

vita is a disaster, it's 1 and a half year old and has no big game released or anounced yet.

wii u is six months old and is getting it's AAA titles on the next few months. wii u is definetely doing bad NOW, but it's no disaster. I can't wait for next box and ps4 to release and sell sub wii u numbers, then see if sony/micro fans will call them doomed.

I've said it before: the major difference is that the Wii U will get top-tier 1st party support. Given Sony's record with the PSP, Vita likely won't.

The difference will be made blindingly apparent by E3, where Wii U's heavy hitters land, and Vita will be a very clear afterthought to PS4 in Sony's setup.

Hey, if PS4 and Nextbox are a disaster I'll be the first to say it. Funny how you'd rather see the whole industry collapse than just your prefered console though.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Both the Wii U and Vita are doomed because the Dreamcast will rise again, there I said what was on everyone's minds.

Reading through this thread, I say it is time to break out the chalkboard.

If you mean list wars it doesn't work with Nintendo fans, all games suck if they're not Mario. So 100 games won't be impressive to them cause they'll just say they all suck.

poll says it all. vita out more than a year had third party exclusives like persona etc. had uncharted, psasbr etc etc failed. Wiiu out half a year had zombiu and low budget mario.
