The only similarity between the two systems is less-than-hoped-for sales. Everything else about their situations is completely different. Almost polar opposites.

Hey, I like Nintendo and express that through my sig. I like them because of the games I like. But the series i don't like is Mario. I have fun playing Zelda, Pokemon, Dillon, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade and some others. But I don't care in the least for Mario. Yes, Mario Kart, that is something different. But I just don't like platformers.

Also, I didn't vote in your poll because there is no proper option. There is no slight difference. They aren't in the same boat. Not even the same ocean.

Those are shipped numbers.  The Wii U is actually still overtracked in the UK and US for 2012.

This has been a trend with some fans.  They were so convinced that the Wii U would win the generation that surely the PS4/720 will do even worse even though the Wii U has sunk far below the lowest weekly sales for the PS3/360

I know not every nintendo fan fits the bill of my "accusations" but as an old member of these forums I can't believe you can't think of members who fit that profile making it impossible to argue with. I know who those Sony fans are too, Xbox fans, Nintendo fans, PC fans. People who start arguments for the sake of starting a mess or derailing threads and any other opinion is moot.

Its one thing to give a joke reply but some fans just start defensive aggressive posts like you insulted their mothers.

Vita has had the Xmas and plenty of time to rebound. Its almost out of options and frankly its still on target for the early death I said it would have before it even launched. Only rare potential would be PS4s uber connectivity makes it a must have accessory.

Wii U will rebound by end of this year.

I need to answer what I answered to some Sony-fan in different threads: That is wishful thinking. It might happen, or it might not. At this point we don't know. We will have to wait and see how it all turns out.

And I hope not only for the WiiU, but also for the Vita for recovery. It is not out of option, the pricecut happened only in Japan so far, and we will see after the Golden week the new baseline for Vita in that region.

Vita does not have that luxury, of tried and true Nintendo franchises. So while they may be in similar situations right this moment, it's pertinent to point out that Wii U has been out for 6 months or so. Vita has been out for well over a year now, and still hasn't really picked up any steam. The DIFFERENCE is, that Wii U inevitably WILL eventually pick up steam.

A great shame for Vita, certainly. But a great (future) boon for Wii U.

Vita gets FIFA. That's a big franchise.

Wow. Great argument! It almost reminds me of people who dismiss Nintendo games only because they have Mario in the title, even if they are from completely different genres.
