for ign probably. they are a core focused american based sight. they probably get more Sony fans than nintendo fans. The internet is not representable of the real world. Although there are less sony fans out there they do tend to be very active online, more so than nintendo fans at least from what i have seen.

Fair point. It is interesting to see how the categories vary by region at http://world.ign.com/. It seems like a lot of places are keeping the Wii over the Wii U for now.

Xbox 720 brings up the most articles on search engines directing to IGN but Playstation 4 is searched for the most. But that's not all, PS4 has even more searches than Playstation 4 but the term brings in less traffic compared to Playstation 4.

In terms of current-gen consoles, PS3 is the most popular in terms of attracting traffic to IGN and in terms of amount of searches. Xbox 360 isn't in the top 30 so it doesn't show its statistics.
