I forgot to mention to get Project X Zone which is a cross between Resident Evil & Mega Man & Street Fighter & Tekken & many other games, as an RPG game.

It comes out during "May" globally (excluding Japan because they already got the game earlier of course).

Also, after you do a Firmware update, you will gain up to 2 hours extra battery life for playing 3D games with the 3D ON. And that's a regular size 3DS.

Battery life will not really be an issue. I will hardly ever going to get my 3DS out of the house (just like my DS), so I will always have a charge available.

But you will get weapon gems and exchange ghost data and music playlist & etc. when you take your 3DS with you. Because of StreetPass.

You can at least have it with you in Sleep Mode like I do.

But I do admit that I have never taken my DS outside of my home since 2006.

And yeah, I tend to only have my 3DS when outside ON but in Sleep Mode the whole time, but I collect a lot of great stuff within 100 feet of other 3DS systems in 1 to 5 seconds being within 100 feet of other 3DS systems.

Plus there's this thing in the Mii Plaza App where you collect other people's Mii's to complete rotating motion 3D images of 3DS games with the polygon count push more towards 160 million polygons, but NOT 160 million polygons. And there's also Find Mii 1 & 2 where you collect a lot of Hats for your Mii by using the Mii's you collected thru StreetPass for Mii Plaza App to wear on your Mii.

You can set up to 12 different games & Apps for StreetPass at once and you don't need the game in the system to get the StreetPass for it.

Street Pass is pretty much pointless in my country. Ever since the release of the 3DS I have only seen 1 guy playing on the street with it. Most people I know who have a handheld system very rarely take them out of their house (unless it's for a long trip).

Well, I haven't seen anyone with a 3DS these past many months but I still keep getting StreetPass, it works within 100 feet.

For instance when I was in KFC for a while and when a Bus stop at red light I got a tag, by somebody probably in that bus.

Same thing happen in Target where I didn't see anyone with a 3DS but I got 4 tags, but I myself had my 3DS hidden in my grocery bag.

Plus when I end up walking thru a neighborhood I get StreetPass tags within 100 feet of someone's house.

And When I go to get my hair cut, I always get a tag by someone new, but I never ever see anyone with a 3DS, so I figure either someone walked by the place, or someone in a car drive thru the street that the hair cut place is on.

Long story short, you will be surprise, so why not try it the first 1 to 4 weeks to see how often you get StreetPass without ever seeing anyone with one. Plus it works within 100 feet in 1 second.

You are really excited about the hundred feet and the polygons man.  I do agree though, Street pass is great, even though I never see anyone with a 3ds I get tags all the time.

I think I made my choice. I will get the 3DS but the original one, don't think I will mind the difference all that much, and I will also save $40 by doing so.

Or is the XL really worth the extra cash?

Depends. I owned an original and upgraded to an XL because I found the original cramping my hands. The XL is more comfortable to hold, so mission accomplished, but I find the 3D doesn't work as well. Might just be me, because I have a slight astygmatism in one eye, but if the 3D matters to you, you might want to go with a regular 3DS.

Might be worth borrowing somebody's 3DS if you can and running a few cups of Mario Kart 7, see how your hands feel after that.

No brainer.

I am similar, I love the 3DS, and I am really happy to finally have got one, but I enjoy console gaming more. If I had to chose, I'd keep my Wii U and toss the 3DS in a heartbeat. The time I have for gaming is just much more often on the Wii U.

Save your money and be happy.

EEEEK! I would just save for a Wii U. That is expensive for a 3DS. Nintendo needs to fix its business in other countries.

Nintendo needs to fix foreign currency? they have that much influence? :P

Edit: OT
Get a 3ds, it's a neat lil' system, works great & has a slew of good games now.

save up for a wiiu if you are not a handhelder unless you can get a decent trade in for 3ds + game and have a bit of both

I would get the 3DS, even if you don't do too much handheld gaming just because it has a decent amount of games already. the Wii U is getting there slowly, but you can't go wrong with a 3DS
