Would you guys buy a 3rd person Metroid game with a Resident Evil 4 type camera? I just randomly thought of that and think it would be kind of neat, I might be the only one though.

No, but put the camera on her back and a bit further from her (so just like any adventure game like Uncharted or other games like Batman) and we can start talking.

Although I'm not sure how the morphball would work :-/

Would you even need to change the camera angle for the morph ball?

I would love a third person Metroid with an Uncharted type camera myself. It would differentiate it from the Prime games.

I don't know, it depends on the puzzles you want to make with it. If they include some of those like in the Prime trilogy where you had to jump placing bombs in the correct sequence to reach that impossible spot it will be harder from a third person view.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Could just use the same style morph ball camera as Prime then? You could transition pretty smoothly between that and an Uncharted camera.

I think I would need some extremely good trailers to convince me of a 3rd-person camera. Imo 3rd-person camera systems only work for cover shooters, which I don't think are a genre not fitting Metroid at all.

I'm fine with that.

@KHlover: Third person whatever isn't restricted to shooters. We've already mentioned Uncharted, but you could also think of Batman or even Zelda. It's a camera that works well with adventure games as it allows you to see more of the environment.

in a game that needs so much jumping the camera must be the regular mario/zelda style. RE 4 camera is good if you have to shoot still, samus must move around like crazy.
