It is completely deserved. These rumors that are going around are horrible and very anti-consumer.
Hopefully Microsoft doesn't go through with these rumored plans. Hopefully they focus on the hardcore gamers which will be dishing out $500 for this thing this holiday.

Yeah. A whole lot of hate and negativity because of rumors is deserved.

I been telling people rumors like this are stupid...and now look how its affecting Gamestop...
I think at the worst this would act as a sort of "online pass" blocking content on the disc if you buy used, with the option to unlock the full game. It would essentially turn used games into no more than demos. This would actually be a good idea as it would lower the price of used games so people would be able to try more games

The irony is here. When the PS4 rumors were going round then "rumors like this are stupid" and it could be turned into a "good idea". Now youre saying the hate on Microsoft is completely deserved because of rumors.

You need to give your head a shake.

The problem is that there is so much smoke, its hard to imagine there being no fire.

Every rumor Ive seen about it has been a negative rumor. When they actually reveal it I expect a bunch of stuff to be confirmed and a bunch of stuff to be refuted. Just dont let it get to you and wait for the chance to give out a "told ya so".

The ironic thing though is 90% of the people complaining about always online are people on internet forums.....who are constantly online.  Most of the people complaining have their Xboxs and PS3s hooked up to stable internet nearly all the time.

Now personally I hope the Next Xbox doesnt require an always online connection but who knows maybe the sheer amount of amazing things theyre adding to Xbox Live makes them require a connection. Thats my point is we dont know anything yet.  For all we know always online could be an incredible experience.  If you have a smartphone its always connected.  People dont complain about their phones.

i don't think anyone cares about always-online, but when always-online is a requriement as in the console doesn't work without an internet connection, that's a problem. Last I checked, there are about 46million XBox Live accounts(Silver + Gold) yet there are 77million Xbox 360s sold.

If the next XBox is truly always online, this means Microsoft will lose out on 30million sales. Hell, people might buy this thing without even knowing that is requries an internet connection. Grandmas don't exactly read the fine print.

Nothing good comes of making your consumers be always online. The only good thing here is that Microsoft can track your every move and serve you ads that cater to your interests. That's the only real benefit I can think of that comes from always-online.

You just answered yourself.

MS has sold 77 million 360s, and yet only 46 million active Live accounts. Do you think a company as massive as MS is dumb enough to not be able to read the numbers?  Always Online will be very real, but it will be used in terms of in order to get the full feature set of your Xbox it has to be online.  Publishers will decide if the games have to be or not.

Some rumors, not all. That is why I am surprised why you say "completely deserved".

The rumored negative "features" of this console far outweigh any positives.
if these "features" were rumored for the PS4, you would expect the same response. This isn't just Sony fans that are against it, its gamers in general.

Thing is mostly there were not soo many bad rumors but they got repeatedly posted. Also the most recent ones should weigh more than the older ones and they look a lot like what Sony is doing. But subjective perception is of course also a factor which forms an opinion.

Can you find a quote from you where you hated the idea of blocking of used games on PS4 (when it was rumored that it would not play used games).  Don't worry if you don't find it we all expected that from you.

Edit:  No need to search anymore,  Carl already find what kind of person you really are. People like you are the ones making the PS community look like idiots hope you proud of yourself.

Nice find and good to see how some members remember posts that are older to show people their subjective perception/agenda. I just don't know if intended or just weird.

No, he wasnt hating. The rumors were stupid and if true, it could be used positively.

I'm afraid that's what happens when you allow a whole bunch of negative rumours to flourish and don't reveal anything about your console.

21st May can't come soon enough, because I'm kind of getting sick of the negativity too.

Put it down to fear... Or at last apprehension.

There actually isn't any other explanation.

Somini has been repeatedly warned and even banned for it... But he continues. Why?

Reported.
