And feel free to tell me what indicates that the next Xbox won't offer the same gaming experiences like the PS4?

History? Their last few E3 press conferences? Their huge Kinect focus?

Everything I"ve seen and heard over the last few months/years leads me to believe Microsoft is positioning the next Xbox as an entertaiment box for casual gaming while the PS4 will be a gaming console with some entertainment options.

So the guys they hired from Naughty Dog (The Last of US), Irrational Games (BioShock Infinite), Sucker Punch (InFamous 2), UbiSoft (Rainbow 6 Patriots), Electronic Arts (BF3) will do Kinect family games then?

That depends. Are they additions to the Rare studio?

Nope, they hired a lot of guys from Codemasters and relic though. They might do the next PGR.
Is this something bad now?

Well it depends on what studio they're going to. I don't see how Microsoft hiring some former employees from these studios is proof of anything. These kinds of things happen all the time.

They are building a new studio in Seattle, some of them are joining the also newly formed Studios in Vancouver (Black Tusk) and Victoria.

But of course, this means nothing. The job ads even ask for 'core gaming experiences' and 'a track record of AAA releases' but all this means nothing.

Really? I think it could mean they're making a new core IP. But who knows though. It's just speculation.

I think you didn't get the joke... Rare did nothing for MS except Kinect titles.

Why you ignore Kameo and Viva Piñata? Both great titles from Rare ;___;

Here is VGKing logic...

MS is putting a big focus on entertainment and casuals. So even though they put out core games as well, the 360 and next Xbox won't appeal to anyone but casuals!

The thing about Sony fans, they don't realize its the 3rd parties that really help draw in the core audiences. 3rd party software accounts for a vast majority of software sales on PS360.

Sony fans feel MS is trying to appeal to everyone, while Sony is just focused on core. Therefore Sony platforms have an unparalleled core experience. While the MS machines are just for casuals.

Nope. I never said the next Xbox will ONLY appeal to casuals. I said that's is Microsofts focus.

Like you said, they will rely on 3rd party and their 1st party games like Halo to sell the console. Is it wrong to ask for something more? Is it wrong to hate the idea of TV and Video services being such a huge focus when most of us just want to play games? What about those who don't live in America? Most of these services will never make it to their countries..

This is just my opinion. My preference. I prefer a console that focuses on core gaming experiences. I don't care about motion controls or services that require monthly subsciptions. Hate me for it.

Like I said, its clear MS is trying to appeal to everyone. But you just think their focus is casuals and entertainment.

Sony is also relying heavily on 3rd parties. Sony pays studios for exclusive advertising and content. Look at the PS4 conference, Sony spent much of the show pushing multiplat games. I suspect Sony is going to release less 1st party games in the 8th gen because so many flopped in the 7th gen.

Are the videos services stopping you from playing games on your 360? Oh wait, you don't own a 360. You just like to piss and moan about them. You constantly bitch about MS making entertainment services a focus, but entertainment services were also a focus at the PS4 conference. Platforms just focusing on gaming is a thing of past, but you would know this if you saw the PS4 conference. This is exactly what Sony told me.

Having an opinion is fine, but since you're sharing them we're going to tell you why your opinions are illogical and ooze of bias.

Core gaming experiences is something MS focuses on. 3rd parties also help deliver that across all platforms.

If you don't care about motion controls then don't pay it any attention. Even Sony spent time at the PS4 conference pushing the Move.

The 360 doesn't require subscriptions. That's an option and most people don't care for online gaming anyhow.

It would give them less to piss and moan about. It would also hurt the edge they feel PS3 has.

Years ago, when I owned a 360 and was limited to a small allowance it did limit what games I played. I played no online games at all since I preferred to buy another game instead of buying something that was free on other platforms.

Multiplatform games are very important. I know that. But so are 1st party games. Those are what makes your platform different from others. That's what Microsoft needs to expand upon. You disagree?

Kinect games made by Rare this gen:

1.

Non-Kinect games made by Rare this gen:

5.

... Yeah, I did not get the joke ...

Are there any Rare game make after Kinect launch? Yeap 2 Kinects games in the last FIVE years.

You got the joke.

Xbox is trying to stay out of MS.

While:

Playstation is trying to revive Sony.

Thats what I got out of this article.

Really? Have any names?

In my opinion it just seems that nothing from these studios has been announced so they're irreleavnt to the current discussion. We can only go buy what we've seen, not what could be. Hopefully both Sony and Microsoft pump out new core IP. I'd love to be a multi-console owner next-gen.

Sour grapes will be sour.
