Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What will be the first Wii U game to show off its true graphical capabilities?

Bayonetta 2, 3D Mario, Mario Kart (maybe), X and Retro's game.

The 3D Mario game or X.

Maybe a multiplat could take the crown too. Watch_Dogs wil look good, I'm curious at which level the Wii U version will stand and compare to PS3 and PS4 versions.

I don't have a lot of faith in multiplats myself, with the U's smaller install base, I doubt devs will put in the time to optimise for it. (So far only Frozenbyte and Criterion have bothered)

If you want a beautiful RPG though, this might be your cup of tea.... :)

I can't wait to play that scene for real in the not-too-distant future!  The visuals are stunning, and it helps to know the gameplay will probably be great too.

A game like Watch_Dogs could potentially show off the system as well. It looks amazing in trailers, and if Wii U pulls that oof it will be impressive.

Aren't you guys forgetting Pikmin 3? It comes out in August and I think it will look really nice.

Pikmin 3 does look nice, but from a technical point of view it doesn't look all that advanced. It began as a Wii game, so it's fairly simple in design.

Look at the last Nintendo Direct, you will see things I haven't seen on other consoles. It has been improved from the graphical stand point since E3 2012.

Pikmin 3 will look awesome at 720p and 60fps.

The reason why it haven't been released yet is because it has been build from the ground up for Wii U, all thing they got on Wii were scratched.

What things? Honestly I thought the latest footage looked rougher than E3, possibly due to lower quality video or the material being work-in-progress stuff not fully ready to be shown.

I have no doubt it will be a visually pleasing game, heck, it already is, has been since E3 2012. But it just doesn't seem like a system pusher to me.

True; Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Metroid Prime 3, Jett Rocket, FAST Racing League, Red Steel 2, Metroid Other M, Donkey Kong Country Returns... makes you wonder what those devs could have achieved detail wise at 30fps.

Funny that you mention these two games :D ! It´s amazing that Shinen is able to achieve some of the best visuals on the Wii(with the 40mb WiiWare limit), it really puts other big publishers to shame if you keep in mind that they are a tiny developer with only around 4 people ....and one of them is only responsible for the soundtrack :D !

Yeah, Shin'en are technical wizards, I really admire their work.

In addition to their Wii efforts, they managed to squeeze this out of the Gameboy Advance:

And this out of the 3DS: (At 60fps)

And since this is a Wii U thread, here's their Wii U game Nano Assault Neo: (60fps also)

Damn!!!! and they really only have 4 people at this studio?
