American business...giving you less for more and paying their fat cats for giving people a dumbed down product. Welp people buy the product.

Constructive criticism from an elitist gamer.

Apparantly to release a new CoD every year until it gets worn out is a strategy worth a raise.

Nintendo has a similar strategy and it has worked extremely well for them.

Strike while the iron is hot.

Looks like 30 poll voters are bitter and jealous.

Guy has done a great job for the company, investors are happy with him, and he's being rewarded.

I don't mind because Activision is one of the very small handful of big publishers to not rape us this gen with day one DLC, online passes, etc.

No one needs an 800% jump in their Salary. That's completely unnecessary.

I think this is an example of business period. Not sure why you're crowbarring your anti American bullshit in there.

Nintendo doesn't work like that, sorry. Anyone who grew up with Nintendo knows they change up the gameplay but keep the characters. Nintendo doesnt have to strike while the iron is hot because they know they have a loyal base that will buy whatever they make. Activision sells the same product ever year.

the only thing that seems fishy is that they dont say exactly how is pay works. If the 800% raise is the reslult of his contract including bonuses for great performance, than it doesn't bother me. If its him giving himself a raise after the fact than thats not right.

i would rather like to see every employee getting 20k more per year and him getting "only" 20m but well...

hey its not like employee's are making the hit games..... ohh wait

@OT after seeing this i really cant blame the guy for putting out the same game every year... i mean really just wow at that amount of money

Sad to see one of the worst companies on top of such lists. The day Activision and Apple, the world will be a better place.

Worst companies? Seriosly? Worse than EA? Capcom?

Bobby Kotick manages Activision which makes the Call of Duty franchise and has had mega franchises like Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk over the past gens. I'd say he deserves an increase in pay. Not sure how these stock things work though so who knows whether or not this fair.

I can point to a lot of companies guilty of rehashing old products and its not limited to American companies. Nintendo with some Mario games is a perfect example. The New Super Mario series, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, I feel like I keep getting the same product with every release.

I could also say IPs guilty of rehashing are... Monster Hunter, Tekken, and Dynasty Warriors are a few off the top of my head.

So CoD has a fanbase that looks forward to annual releases. This bothers you too much. A person who probably has no interest in CoD games. Still plenty of other games to play.

Look at CoD the same way as NFL games or Fifa games. But with bigger changes than the roster.
