isnt the game kind of in limbo atm anyway with THQ going bankrupt? Just cause someone bought the IP doesn't mean the current game will come out any time soon. They may not like it and want it tweaked.

Just announced yesterday that the game has gone gold.

I think it was THQ's decition to cancel because they didnt think it was worth it and they were also bleeding money. Some developer said the Wii U's slow CPU made it harder to port as well. But who knows now, i forgot who bought the franchise.

It was probably THQ's decision since they were bleeding money and the new port would have costed more money. The dev was likely expecting to be able to do a quick and dirty port of it to save money, but the different architecture of the Wii U  was giving them issues. The processor itself is of a lower clock speed, but it is more powerful than the 360 one and the GPU would have assisted it very nicely. The game could have run phenomenal on the Wii U, but I understand cancelling it because of money contraints, it's too bad THQ went under. :-

Well Metro Last Night may be on WiiU I have no information about it really, but Metro Last Light is definately canned...

BUT! Fear not!

It was announced no less than Last Night on the PS4 so you can buy that version! Cheers!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Last I heard they had no plans to make a WiiU version.

It's a shame too. From what I have played so far of Metro 2033, it seems like a real good, solid title.

Once I finish Skyrim I intend to play Metro 2033.

so it was cancelled? because it was announced back in 2011 at E3

Deep Silver did. And they have plans for a PS4 version but there's no mention of WiiU. But considering Dead Island: Riptide didn't come to WiiU either (Dead Silver game), I wouldn't hold my breath.

shame. I really want to play it Wii U. I have no plans for PS4 now, so I'll pick for PS3

Yup, it was a developer from A4 who were developing the game. Mind you, you shouldn't read too much into this as the engine is pants and they obviously didn't take time to optimise the game for the Wii U hardware. Just having a DSP in the Wii U will make Expresso at least 16% more efficient compared to Xenon before you even start to think about Expresso being Out of Order as opposed to In Order.
