Seems like nobody can look at a truncated timeline of gaming without complaining that their favorite games aren't on it.

If this had every semi-important minor development in gaming it would take years to compile and be longer than anyone would ever want to read.

You do realize that Halo isn't just one of the most popular gaming franchises of all time, but that it also breathed new life into the FPS genre when first released and went on to set the standard that other FPS games have been following ever since?

They put Halo but not Doom, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Solid, Mario 64 nor Zelda:Ocarina of Time? All games that aren't puzzles (Those are based off Tetris) today are based off of these games...

Really? For lock-on? Starcraft and Halo both set standards and changed the face of gaming. Starcraft is a new sport and Halo is freaking HALO.  I do agree that Zelda deserves a spot on the list, but it's a small timeline and everything can't make it on.

OoT set the standard for almost every 3d platforming and adventure game, tomb raider, dark souls etc. Halo is good but Goldeneye would have been a more apropriate and deserving spot, because it was the game that really put shooters on consoles. Halo didnt do anything.... special, i think is the right word

That's what you sound like.

Come on people. This timeline is too small to have all your favorite stuff on it. It's just a brief look at where we came from and how we got to today.
