Forums - Gaming Discussion - New Idolm@ster games being brought to US... On iOS... for $54.99

Namco-Bandai are bring the latest entries in the iDolm@ster series, Shiny Festa, to America. However instead of on the PSP like in Japan, they are being ported to iOS. In addition, they will cost $54.99 each bringing the total for all 3 games to $164.97. That's not all as it appears that there will be DLC in addition.

This is pretty ridiculous. I think this will be the most expensive game on the iOS app store. Did the originals even cost that much in Japan?

I really want to know the sales number on this. If over a 1000 people spend that money on this I would be surprised/impressed/confused.

That's very cheap. Only cost them less than $55 to port the game to iOS.

It's cheaper than the PSP games. They were 5980 yen (5380 for DL) each. The iOS games are 4800.

I'm more surprised they would bring this outside Japan.

Yes. This may end up being my 3rd iOS game purchase in 6 years.

I'm fine with iOS or Android games costing this much. But I can't imagine many people want this game for that price.

A $55 IOs game? LMAO!!! it will sell like crazy!! /s.

In Japan idolm@ster has an enormous following from the fan community. There's people who spend thousands of dollars worth on the games, DLCs, CDs&DVDs, collectibles, etc, and buying digital card packs for the card game.

Not sure if they will get the same response from the foreign market. This is Bandai Namco's test for the market potential I guess.

This is good. My wallet is kinda feeling heavy now that I think about it and this purchase could remedy that.

Well, whenever this fails badly. I'm sure they'll try and use this as an excuse as to why they won't bring any of the other games over.
