I don't think "sharing his opinion" is the point, but rather not being able to have a meaningful discussion on N4G.

And my point was to accept that fact and move on. It won't change anytime soon, and there are countless alternatives.


Don't get me wrong, I'm not hoping it will change at all more of a "what on earth is this all about?" type feeling and decided to ask the VGChartz peeps if it was some big conspiracy and where people go to vent like loons, or some other rational explanation. :)

Yeah fair enough, not sure myself how it got so Sony centric. It's like the brats from the start of this generations console wars that never matured and are still in attack mode, while the rest of the gaming community has cooled off.


That's very true, there was a time when VGChartz circa 2005-6 had it's a sizeable N4G like group. As you say, they either left or calmed down to a sensible level.

I have a joke account on there "Jaqen Hagar" and talk like him but yeah it's very divisive. There are a lot of Playstation fans but the Xbox ones are extremely vocal and annoying as well.

Personally I'm better at dealing with the super obvious trolls/fanboys than the subtle ones.

Being a fairly a popular website with (seemingly) minimum moderation you open the community up to pretty much everyone. This obviously let's in a lot of immature and generally stupid users. And since these users are likely to be banned on most other sites, they will be more concentrated on these unmoderated sites, like YouTube. The more intelligent users won't be as tolerant of stupidity and leave for somewhere else, thus furthering increasing the concentration of stupid users.

N4G is so famous for trolling that some people only go there for trolling (myself included).
