Iphone 5.
Its a nice phone and its the first Apple device I've owned, but I really wish I had bought a Lumia 920 instead.

Why? The lumia runs windows os which doesn't match up to android and ios right now.

Lumia checks your mail, surfs the web, streams music, lets you do banking or trade stocks, plays games, downloads podcasts and does 95% of the things equaly as good as iPhone or a "samsung" phone you people are talking about here.  You guys know Samsung makes Windows phones right?

On top of that it tops the iPhone 5 in terms of camera stabilization, camera low light performance, wireless charging, and screen sensitivity...you know things that people may want.

As far as this "windows isn't as good" talk...try using your average 250 dollar or cheaper Android device and a 250 dollar Windows Phone device... One is a hell of a lot smoother and better to use than the other. Overall it is missing a few key apps, and some minor features, but the difference between iOS, Android and WP isn't nearly as large as you may think.

Firstly flip phones are dead IMO. The main point of a flip was to increase the screen size will giving protection and decreasing footprint size. Neither are issues anymore.

I own a HTC One X and its been a awesome handset. I initially had the WLAN fault that the launch models had, this was repaired by HTC within 5 days. Since then the experience has been flawless and each software update has improved the slickness and performance as well as improving the battery life by a huge amount. My mum has the Samsung Galaxy S3 and her battery life has got dramatically worse in the same time. I did consider the s3 for myself but after seeing the issues my mum has had and having test driven the new One handset I think I'll be staying with HTC again.

Until Apple drop the reliance on iTunes I'll never be interested in their devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note

I'll never get anything other than the Samsung Note line. Perfect balance of features.

How are samsung phones in your experiance?

I've had two Samsung phones. A Galaxy S and a Galaxy Note. Both were the best of their time and Samsung's flavor of Android is top notch. I have had nothing but positive experience with Samsung phones. But that's because I don't go for the cheapest model that comes free with a contract like so many others do. Samsung makes high end phones like Galaxy Note, but they also make janky ones that suckers take because salesmen talk them into data plans. The high end Samsung phones give their contemporary iPhone counterparts a run for thier money, but the low end phones harm the brand. Apple only makes high end devices so people only have good things to say about them. The best of Samsung are great so just makes sure not to let the low end phones taint your opinion.

I'm starting to think that everyone just reads the title and not the op. xD

I work in a phone shop, although smart phones are really popular, old fashion phones will never die out

we sell cheap buttoned samsungs for £9 - builders, farmers, people who are off to music fesitvals will always buy these
it tends to be older women who like the flip style phones now, and just wan't to use a phone as a  phone, nothing internet enabled
big buttoned phones, for thr real real oldies like the Doro easy phone 611, which is also a flip one

i think motorola tried to make a comeback with a flip phone (like the old razr) but it didn't sell to well

Samsung Galaxy Note II, the best piece of hardware u can get in a phone! Simply AMAZING! Haha!

I am currently using the Samsung Galaxy S3 with T-Mobile. I switched to them a little more than a week ago. It's basically due to them being a lot cheaper than at@t.  I also wanted a phone with a larger screen. I know they don't have the best coverage but it's about price for me and I mainly stay in the city anyways. I still have my iPhone 4S that my sister bought for me. I will continue to use it, more like an iPod touch for now. The 4S also has a great camera as well so I can take pictures with it.

Yup. Though I must say it's pretty dumb for a smartphone.

Nope, I've been using this piece of crap since 2008

In many cases, flip phones are already extinct.

As smartphones get cheaper and cheaper to produce, even the budget carriers like Metro PCS and Virgin mobile are doing away with flip phones and getting watered-down versions of HTC, LG and Samsung smartphones.
