according to week ending april  13th PS3 has sold 74,225,000 and 360 75,238,000 units

Even as a big PS3 fan, I don't think it'll be a big deal if/when PS3 passes xbox360 in overall global sales. This generation is practically over.

If PS3 could pass Wii eventually would that be big?  I think so as it shows how much longevity their consoles have compared to the competition to stay in people's hearts and minds longer.

i don t think this gen has ended for consoles there are still great games to come as Last of Us Beyond Two souls tales of xillia and other big name titles as GTA V are coming to current gen consoles(, current gen consol(especially ps3 360) will continue to sell even after the release of ps4 and xbox 720

Totally. I don't doub Ps3 has been closing the gap, but we can't really say how much since VGChartz numbers are way off.

It's getting close now. It's about bloody time, I bet even Microsoft fans want it to overtake soon just to get it over with.
