Would have been bigger if it was followed with the announcements of Mother/Earthbound Zero and Mother 3 VC releases.

I get that good sales for this are likely to force Nintendo to release the previous Japan only games, but it still miffs me and now I can't get the idea of a Earthbound remake (not with polygons characters just better sprites) out of my head.

I never played Earthbound. Why all the excitement?

Wow, this is great news. Earthbound (along with Final Fantasy VI) is probably one of my favorite RPGs during the SNES era, particularly for its humor. I still have my original copy.

I never had a Super Nintendo, so all of those games in the VC trailer are a pretty big deal to me. Super Mario World, Super Metroid ($.30!), Earthbound and so on will give me plenty to play while I wait for retail games. Hopefully they step up their game when it comes to releasing games on the VC....

If there was an Earthbound 4, other than the fan game, I would have a heart attack. This game deserves to be released again. Maybe they can re-market the game with a campaign that says "this game doesn't stink". I'm happy that many people will get to experience this masterpiece without forking over hundreds of dollars for it.
