You took that well, I felt literally depressed after reading your previous post. But very interesting and inciteful. I'd not thought about it all with a clarity like that before. You know when you think about something but don't get to the end of the thought, you just layed the whole thought out in a very clear way, will read up on that Godwin's Law, as I've not heard it before.

Just make sure when you ride the Playstation train you remember which stop to get off at and don't get carried away with the merriment and lose all sense and sanity :D

Personally, I am in no camp.  Just a few months ago I purchased PS + because of the instant game collection.  I have a PSP, PS Vita, PS3 and the instant game collection just make living in the PS ecosystem a nice place to be. PS+ easily paid for the subscription fee on the first month I joined so well worth the money.  

Even with all that said, I have not made up my mind whether or not which console I will get coming this Christmas holiday season.  I can easily wait until MS show what they got and weigh my wants based on games being released and price point.  Both consoles will not hit the market for quite some time and both probably will be about 300 to 400 bones anyway so what I save up now will go to one.  In the end, I probably will get both but only one will see my home this holiday season.

I do not go on rumors.  I like to speculate and make predictions like everyone else but until I actually see a product and here what it does and does not do, I leave the rumors to speculation.  Currently, Sony has not really showed me anything so I am still waiting on them to wow me.  The specs of the machine is alright but none of the social features I see myself using.  I also do not see my self using Giakia so everything will be about the games.  What was shone at the reveal did not spark me to purchase the PS4 this holiday season so MS still have a window of opportunity to show me they have been doing something for the last 2 years besides Kinect Sports.

Last but not least, the console battle is a marathon and I am hoping that Sony and MS both come out swinging.  It both are battling to get our money, we as the consumer will win.  Right now, Sony is making me consider cancelling my XBL sub which means MS probably should add something thats not a TV service to GOLD to keep my subscription.  IMHO, I believe MS will copy Sony on the instant game collection because it is a true value for money but we will see.

Back to the PS4 though, from what we know now I can't see how even the most biased MS fan couldn't give it credit. Strangely enough, the PS4 hasn't been that high of a target for rubbing MS fan's noses in it - as much as I thought it would. I put this down to low intelligence of certain PS fans on internet forums. They don't understand real specs, just words like "CELL" and "BELIEVE" or any other buzzword that means nothing to them.

 

I know that sounds condemning and I'm assuming it's ok to voice that view here as it's on topic. I mean I really want to like Sony these days, but just hope the rhetoric used in the PS3 days doesn't make an annoying return, from the stupid release lists for games that aren't coming out for ages to discussing stupid places the PS3 has been used (well the CELL cpu) as some kind of affirmation of it's power without even realizing that different types of CPUs are better in different areas...to the (even today) rabid hoard of fanboys commenting on any news on N4G...

 

I'd say Sony deserves a better standard of fan. So I'm pleased that as someone who was swayed more in the MS direction and now rationally impressed by the PS4 that you made this thread.

We need less nutters and more level headed ground people!...maybe that last line is irony though as I received a message a couple of days ago telling my I have "social issues" and am basically a right bastard on here.

I dont make OP threads about my opinions on the gaming industry/competition because I dont really care that much about the situation with the industry whether its sales or bad news being posting around - I just want to play the games no matter who published/developed them lol.

I only make threads discussing about trivial things such as "What is your favorite ????" or "What did you get for ?????" - example.

I also post gaming news when I can but mostly political news surrounding the gaming industry (i.e. gaming censorship) and other misc threads like my youtube channel thread or movie/tv show/anime threads ;o.

Anyways I am now a Nintendo/Sony/PC fan and eventually in a few months to a year from now will also be a Microsoft fan (gaming wise since I am already a fan of Microsoft when it comes to its OS and applications).

Nintendo Fan since 1991
Sony Fan since 2003
PC/Steam Fan since 2011

@OT - I cant really say that I am in any "camp" - I'm neutral, I go to where games are and hold no blind loyalty to one brand or another. If the price and the gaming library is right - I will go there.
