Only about 26,000 this week in North America? And that seems to be the regular baseline for the console in North America (100-160k a month), this isn't an irregular blip it would seem but more of the norm. 

You can't say it "haz no gamez!". It now has Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario 2, Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus Uprising, Zelda: OoT 3D, Brain Training, Nintendogs + cats, Professor Layton, Paper Mario, Mario Tennis, Luigi's Mansion 2, Fire Emblem, Style Savvy, Skylanders, Monster Hunter 3G, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid 3D, Resident Evil (x2), Super Street Fighter IV, Castlevania, etc.

It's gotten an $80 price cut. It's even gotten a hardware revision. Nintendo has released several color variants.

People look at the 3DS' performance in Japan and gloss over the fact that compartively it's doing quite poorly in North America and Europe (though Europe is a bit better) compared to where the DS was once it got a good library going. Of course it's better than (lol) Vita, but an inanimate carbon rod would probably outsell the Vita in the West at this rate.

Vita bashing aside, people dont care. Its really that simple, they might be content with thier smart phones or lost interest in portable gaming. I cant think of anything else. everything you put down is a good, thing, That is a decent library of games even if some are old ass ports. Pokemon should do something for it come fall, but i dont know how long that will last.

3DS is always undertracked on VGchartz. Been so for couple months.

Tablets and phones.
3DS doesn't have FPS games.
3DS XL lacks colors.

No longer has the Brain Age, Nintendogs audience. Relying pretty much on the GBA audience at this rate.

True I think a lot of people are in denial about the absolute collapse of the handheld industry in the West and kinda gloss over this because the 3DS is selling well in Japan, so everything must be OK. But it's still sluggish in the West.

The Vita at sub-5000 this week is just ... wowza.

Personally I'd never consider paying $150+ for a device and another $15-40 for games now that I have a endless supply of great games (and yes even more trash but that's easily avoided)

I honestly don't think it's doing poorly. Not as well as in Japan, but it's pretty steady, and the numbers are only going to go up. I think people are really underestimating how many systems Pokemon is going to move. And no, it's not just going to be a one-month spike.

I think the industry as a whole has a bad habit of always comparing numbers. Just because the previous system sold better or it's selling better somewhere else it doesn't mean it's totally floundering. The 3DS could be selling just as "poorly" across the board and Nintendo would probably still be seeing a nice profit.

Also, Pokemon. Seriously, Pokemon.
