Forums - Gaming Discussion - 720 will Decide if WiiU RAM is enough.

Nextbox will have at max 2GB for OS... 4GB is bullshit.

And no matter how much Nextbox have because 1GB for games is crazy low (this gen standard).

If they are using windows, I imagine that takes up a bit.

Of course it has relevance to what you're saying and at this point no those games don't really matter on a Nintendo console. Sony put Nintendo in the place that Nintendo put Sega in which is a first party centric console. Nintendo early mid 90s era woud've had great progress with first, second and third party.

Wii-like success is great for first party but a shallow cash grab unless all games were casualized and had Just Dance like sales. Because Nintendo stopped being a gamer console it told the market that only casualized first and third party games and Nintendo core first party could survive because without those gimmicky games it doesnt commit the consumer base to loyalty. They will buy a handful of games and thats it.

So it wouldn't matter, which means we agree.

However, if Nintendo had 3rd party dominance, and Sony was able to take it away, what's really stopping them from getting it back? I believe Nintendo can't anyways because it would have to use business practices which are self-destructive, such as loss-leading and bending to unreasonable requirements by 3rd parties that have a little too much pull (Epic).

Until the non-Nintendo market implodes, Nintendo just needs to keep doing its own thing.

If you get a Wii U I dont think your going to get many multiplatform games, and I dont think Nintendo fans really care much for the next bro game like Call of Duty. Just because one console has better graphics doesn't mean it will sell better or be better, otherwise the Vita would be destroying the 3ds. The Wii U will be fine, Project X itself shows that the graphics will be pretty good on Wii U.

wait...

Windows 8 needs 2 GB RAM for the 64bit version and 1 GB for the 32 bit version.
The Wii U needs 1 GB for the OS, the PS3 needs 1 GB for the OS.
The PS3 OS needs 96 MB for the OS. The Xbox 360 uses 32 MB (!!!) for the OS.

Why do you think the Xbox 720 will require 4 GB now?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

i hated windows 8, so i went back to 7. and wiiu is irrelevant in this with all the memory that will be in ps4 and potentially nextbox. there is a reason more is better, especially when you put 8 gb of GDDR5 to 1-2 MB ddr3(i think it is ddr3 its been while since ive seen the stat).
in my opinion the wiiu has a few months before it becomes last gen.

and why should this version use up to 4 times the amount of RAM as the regular version?
