PS3 made the greatest comeback ever

Going from first place to being last place is a greatest comeback? Losing billions of dollars and will never recoup that loss this gen is the greatest comeback? You Sony fans knows how to spin things.

Greatest comeback goes to Nintendo from GameCube to the Wii. PS3 will always be the biggest loser in gaming history for losing the most money and losing the biggest market share from gen to gen.

agreed, things certainly turned around quickly with the PS3 slim. I still remember those doom threads about PS3 lol

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Nope, the ps3 was always selling steady and always had tons of exclusive (1st 12 months: Heavenly sword, uncharted, resistance, Warhwak, motostorm, folklore, Lair) and great 3rd party support.

The Wii U will undoubtably have the best comback.

Right now its a system I don't understand why anyone would want let alone spend $349 dollars for it. Once MArio kark, Windwaker HD, Project X, Beyonetta 2, Pikmin 3,  Retro's new project, Fire Emblem, Smash bros and 3d mario all get paraded at E3 it will be a holy shit moment.

You do know, that to OP is talking about during gen. So PS3 did great, considering how it started, and Nintendo GC to Wii is a whole different story. 3DS did great by the way. I think Sony will do the same for the Vita (pricecut), and eventually will sell about 70 million, near where PSP did (they're talking about a 10 year lifecycle, so about 7 mil/year avarage doesn't seems unreachable with a pricecut.)

PS3 will probably reach 90 million, maybe (maybe!) 100 million. A number most people would've said impossible 5 years ago. I think it's impressive, that they may reach PSOne numbers all things considered. That what the OP was talking about. We have not seen such a comback besides the 3DS.

It was overpriced. Came out a year later. Was going head to head with the Wii, which was a "craze" when it released. Lost a lot of traditionally PS exclusives. Didnt have a good launch line up.

But..... PS3 came back. All the "PS3 is doom!" talk stopped around 2009. In 2009 KZ2 came out and was easily the best looking game on console. Infamous came out. Uncharted 2 came out and blew everyone away, winning multiple game of the year awards. Finally PS3 had its killer app. PS Slim + price cut happened and it was finally 'affordable'.  The PS3 was re-branded, and launched the "It only does everything" marketing campaign.

After being behind by about 10 million,Ps3 is now neck and neck with 360, and has surpassed some great systems like NES, Genesis, N64, and SNES. It's also set Sony up to be the frontrunner for next-gen winner. PS3 made the greatest comeback ever.

while i never actually cared for kz or infamous uc2 was great.  but honestly is it really that great of a comeback when your opponent stop trying?

if we eliminate japan which  well isnt really a competitive market (west=doo doo) then the "comeback would still be coming back" even while

microsoft is a passed out drunken hare after partying with harlots

Its still overpriced if you ask me. I never understood why it always cost more than the 360.

Its not realy a comeback, its Microsoft stopped caring about gamers about 2 years ago and went for casuals. So, naturally that left Sony in a good position. They are pretty much running unnoposed at the moment.

I agree, I tried to tell everyone in a thread last week , but everyone just wanted to argue with me. Out of no where the PS3 became a beast!

Any console would be a beast if they could loose 7 billion.

Blu-ray, man. It costs more. (And lets don't talk about other things like, WiFi, HDMI, etc., what the first Xbox never had.)

By the way, my college bought an HDTV (finally) and couldn't use HDMI, because he said his Xbox didn't have one. Of course I told him, that an Xbox so old, he is lucky it didn't went RROD long time ago. Buy the way, he went to buy a new Xbox, but eventually ended up with the PS3. He said, it's because of the Blu-ray.

I agree! i mean what's not to agree!?

Simply great. And should be even greater if the sales manage to surpass 360 by year end.
