I agree that holding 2 weapons at a time is kind of weird and annoying at first, but you'll get used to it (at I least I did). I'm currently playing on 1999 mode and believe me that doing melee attacks will result in your death, and it takes A LOT of melee attacks to kill a single enemy, in what level are you playing?

Detection and stealth mechanics aren't really present in the game, so you shouldn't even try it.

Yeah, I think it makes the game feel one dimentional.

I'm paying it on nomal - I'm just an average gamer now

How could BS 2 be a bad game if all it did was build on the first game? What in your opinon made BS 2 a bad game and makes BI so much better?

Did you played both? They are completely diferent games in quality.

BioShock 2 is not a bad game it is a bad compared to BioShock and BioShock 2... it is like a 8/10 games (BS2) vs 9.5/10 game (BS and BSI).

What make it is worst...

- Combat: Unbalanced... everything can be killed with the Drill in seconds even the Big Sisters and Big Daddies... a lot of useless weapons and plasmids/tonics... no Wrench... no needed to go to headshots because the game is focuses in closed combat (the invencible Drill)... the controls are slow compared to BioShock and less responsible... you can't shift plasmids and weapon fast in the combat (there are delay because the MP focus I guess).

- Story: No comparison... crap... no intersting, no motivation, nothing works in the story at all... LACK OF KEVIN LEVINE!!!

- Characters: Are there any?

- Environment: No difference from BioShock.

- Choices: The moral choices change the end but nothing more... so the story is bad and that makes the moral choices forgettable.

- Ending: Everything related to story and characters... so I finished the game two days ago and I didn't remeber the endings because there are no impact or anything motivational like BioShock.

That what I think about BioShock 2... the game was made by another team and Keven Levine itself didn't participate.

i always tought bioshock and especially bioshock 2 underrated. don't get me wrong, the atmosphere and graphics were really well done. what i didn't like is the generic gameplay.

Overrated you means?

I don't think the game is 1 dimensional. Instead of stealth mechanics you have the skyhook which makes you go all over the stage and jump on enemies. Later in the game there are some really intense battles were using the sky rails is pretty much essential for you to not die, and it's freaking cool imo.

If you think the game is easy I recommend changing it to hard, you can change it on the menu any time you want (at least on the PC version).

The challenge in BioShock is miles ahead the chanllenge in BioShock 2... even the Big Daddys are really bad to deal in the first game.

And the MP is the most crab/boring thing added in BioShock 2... EPIC FAIL!!!

Its in my top 5 favorite games of all time

A stunning masterpiece

Sorry by another post because I remembered more bad things about BioShock 2.

- The hack system is awlful... everything prefectly created in BioShock for hack was destroyed in BioShock 2.

- BioShock 2 is linear and you can't go to everywhere or go back to previus cenaries to do others things... it is a corridor shooter... BioShock is more open world (with loadtimes between areas of course) and you can make different mission in the orden you want... BioShock 2 is always the same objective.

I think the problem is that you think that Bioshock 2 is better than Bioshock, which only very very few people would agree with you.

Bioshock 2 is basically a copy of the first game with a much worse story (though still decent compared to other shooters) and characters.

Infinite isn't a bad game (mediocre), it is just not that good as everyone says it is. It isn't a masterpiece AT ALL.

Gameplay is Call of Duty in the air. All the upgrades for your guns and Vigors indicates it wants to be more than it is, because those upgrades are unnecessary even on Hard mode like I did and you end up using max 2/3 vigors through the whole game. In Bioshock 1, those upgrades were necessary for preparations before fighting an enemy like Big Daddy. You knew you had to fight them, so you upgrade the plasmids and weapons needed. In Infinite, you just run around, looking for ammo. The big guys will die eventually (dying has no meaning in this game whatsoever, you just die and go on with new ammo). There is also much less sneaking and other kind of weapons like electricitycables in Bioshock and bombs you drop in his way. The vigors in Infinite are 100% useless in Columbia and randomly forced because it is a Bioshock game. In Bioshock those plasmids explained why everybody wanted to kill you and what made Rapture such a creepy place (Infinite isn't creepy at all).

The story (especially) in the end is very vague and it sounds complicated and that's the reason everybody thinks it's genius. The complexities are compensated with a literally infinite amount of plot holes. We can talk about this when you finish the game if you want.

Everybody wants it to be a masterpiece because of the graphics, Elizabeth the bullet-sponge and the overly complicated story and amazing way (that's a good thing about Infinite) of storytelling.

It's just you, the game is incredible. I didn't really think much of the combat mechanics in the previous two games and the stealth/detection method you mentioned wasn't particularly polished. I'd go so far as to say that the combat mechanics in the previous games now feels dated and relatively basic.

In Infinite, the combat is played at a far faster tempo, is well polished and forces you to think on your feet. The sky rails become essential for seeking enemies/positional advantage, the two weapon system plus the shortage of ammo forces you to frequently switch weapons depending on your situation and Elizabeth's ability to pull in different items from other worlds can mean the difference between success and failure. There's so much more depth to the combat when compared to the last two games (and especially two which I thought felt dated when it released). If you're finding you're simply playing it like your average FPS then I recommend increasing the difficulty so that you can experience the fast paced nature of the new game.
