Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Would you be just as big a Nintendo fan if they went "software" only?

I'd buy a Virtual Boy to block out the cruel world.

The box is irrelevant, software is all. It depends on if Nintendo could be able to maintain the high quality of their games

I'll be a fan of the old company, not the new one. Nintendo is the only company out there who wants to surprise people with new ideas instead of people only giving what they want. If they go software only and therefore are dependent of third party developers... Nintendo will die instantly. Especially if they work with western companies that only cares about graphics and performance and doesn't give a damn about gameplay. It would be something like hell on earth. It will be like seeing your best friend suffering and dying and you just can't do something about it.

no, it's a fact that their games are so good cause they know their hardware just sooo good.

I actually expect Samsung to try for the console market with a partnership with Nintendo instead of purely "software only".

yea considering i only like some of they're software...

I don't know... i love nintendo consoles and after all this years it would be weird to buy a playstation to play zelda, and i would have to settle to buy the same game with just improved graphics every gen because there would be not innovation of controller and stuff

Nintendo was actually over a 100 years old before they ventured into video games.

It will make me less intense of a fan, but a fan nonetheless.

I would support Nintendo games, but I haven't purchased a Nintendo console since the GC. I've found no need to, but Nintendo really shouldn't be listening to heeding the negative words of westerners. Even Pachter who dislikes the way Nintendo does things has admitted Nintendo has years left in this industry and half a century of cash.
