Its sad, alot of my friends that consider themselves gamers literally only play COD, FIFA and Assassins Creed

I never played a COD game besides the demo for COD 2 when the 360 launched at a display at a store. I haven't played a FIFA game since last generation.  I kinda like AC but still haven't played the third one even though I have it available since launch.

And once again i have lost all hpe for mankind again. At least Call of Duty is decling. Isnt it? Hopefully this game series will decline massive in next gen. Microsft and Sony surly need to stop bundling this games.

I thought the PS3 had the most diverse titles out there but apparently; COD is the most popular.

lol CoD is the most popular franchise in the games in today market... no other game actualy can compete with it.

Only the CoD sales in this generation is bigger than a lot of console games sales combined (GC, XBOX, etc sold less software than CoD sold this gen).

Please, don't blow it out of proportions.

CoD sold good this gen, but not out of this world. For one, they don't do 30m+ each year. Two, both Mario and the 'Wii' series sold more than CoD this gen and three, CoD definitely didn't outsell the combined total of either the GameCube or the XBox.

CoD did 165.8m this gen according to data here. GC did 208.6m and XB did 271.5m. The CoD number includes everything released this gen; console, handheld, pc, all different versions.

Anyway, OT: The next CoD isn't going to reach 10m on the PS3, so if it'll get a fifth 10-million seller it'll be Grand Theft Auto IV first.

Out of proportions?

First VGC didn't track PC sales... second only in 2012:

Call of Duty: Black Ops II: 20 million (PS3 + 360 only)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: 5 million (PS3 + 360 only)

In 2012 only two CoD games sold 25 million in PS3 + 360... added the others version (PC, Wii, Wii U, etc) plus the old CoD.

CoD sells over 30 million per year... and all games this already sold more than 200 million units.

You can believe that. Still, no single CoD game adds up to 30m. Also, I highly doubt this site undertracked CoD by as much as over 110m (!) to beat Mario this gen and the XBox total software sales.

Add PC tos these numbers and you can be certain at least two CoD sold more than 30 million units...and it is 30 May 2012 data... MW3 here in VGC already sold more than 30 million without PC.

And the site didn't undertrack the franchise... it didn't track PC sales.

You are just understimating the CoD sales.

It's sad that the only 10 million+ games on PS3 are call of duty games, there are so much better games out there. What is it even more depressing is that people seem to judge PSN off of Call of Duty, when it's always ported over from Xbox.

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Man, I was born in the wrong age, miss you 90's, the only thing bad about that time is that they didn't have a good internet.

Couldn't agree more.

It's actually so sad to see crappy games selling millions, while gems are getting poor sales.

Anyways, next cod won't surely sell 10 M. this gen had finally shown its fatigue, GT5, GTAV can do it.

It's so depressing.

Wow lot's of people find this depressing... I wonder how many of them actually own one of those.
