I don't see why people downplay Lego City Undercover so much.

Wasn't this the third party game which most Nintendo fans seemed to care about at E3 ?
The Rayman hype was far lower. Aliens CM was maybe on a similar level, but if a good exclusive game isn't supposed to be system seller for a new consoles then what is ?

LEGO games never sell systems, why would anyone think this one would exclusive or not? During XMAS? probably. Random month of year.. nah.

Aliens could have done a lot for the WiiU actually, if they tried to fix all problems and maximize the gamepad use, the WiiU version could be the only good one and could actually get the system a lot of attention in my opinion.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

lol-Wii U has system sellers like mario2d,monster hunter(remember nintendo paid lots of money to make this game exclusiv) and dragon quest(remember nintendo paid tons of money to make this game exklusiv)

having 3 system sellers and selling less than half of the systems than the last gen is not really a success.

and the only reason why nintendo is selling slightly more in the past days is a massive priceecut(you can buy wii u basic for 199euro(down from 299)ps360 is also 199 euro.

do you think wii u would sell more units than vita with monster hunter being released on vita?i don't think so.

My point is: If the WiiU is selling without any real amazing game, this is very good news for the industry overall, imagine the hype and desiree the big boys will cause in november.

....

Yes. Anyone who doesn't see this is blind.

The idea of multiplatform is to reach the most amount of users for th cheapest cost. They would not have implemented the gamepad well. they would not have updated the graphics. they would not have fixed any gameplay or glitch problems. If anything it would have been a lazy port that looked worse and played worse.

And to put your optimism into prespective at this rate (which it will drop even more than it is now) the system won't eve cross 4.5mil before it's first year anniversary. That is not selling by any means.

and which LEGO games have been exclusive before and got that much attention ?

The game sold about as much as expected first week, so I'm surprised that people didn't think it would lift as many consoles as it did, which was IMO a reasonable amount.
The next random game that sells ~100k first week will lift the hardware sales just as much. The title of the game is completely irrelevant (as long it's not a direct successor of a game that is already on the console). LEGO, Flopgame, Mario etc. everything will do.

Would you trust a dentist that has been doing work for 25+ years? Would you trust a doctor with 25+ years of experience to cut your stomach open and remove your pancreas? If you answered "yes"Then you can trust Nintendo because they've been making successful games for 25+ years! WOW! Who would have thought!

There's no Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Zelda, Sonic, Pikmin, F-Zero, Metroid, Star Fox, Pokemon, (NEW) Dragon Quest, 3D Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, Fire Emblem, Donkey Kong, on the Wii U and it is still doing okay. Just wait until E3.
I bet you 1 million dollars that Nintendo's software steals the show.

And concerning the poll

Just no...
