Is this exclusive to the Wii U version, or will they be featured in all versions?

Either way, I'll be picking this game up on my 360. No point in spending $300 on a console that plays the exact same games that a soon-to-be 8 years old console can.

Because exclusives don't exist...

Apparently not for the Wii U, since many of its 3rd party "exclusives" have found their way onto the current-gen HD twins (Rayman Legends, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge).

2D Mario is only going to get you so far.. and judging by sales, that's not very far these days.

Somehow I doubt Pikmin 3, Zelda, Smash Bros, 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Xenoblade sequel, Yarn Yoshi, etc will go to PS3/360.

And 2D Mario appeals to an audience currently outside the Wii U's current price range.

But thats the whole point of it though, this was supposed to be the game that moved consoles. Its not really doing that, maybe Mario isnt the system seller we thought it was or used to be? I dont think its the price either at least thats just not the only factor. Im pretty sure that Mario World and 64 moved more consoles on their respective system than this, i could be wrong.

Mario World wasn't called upon to sell a $350 console though.

How much did SNES cost when it came out? cause if its around the same then the situation is no different. and you dint say anything about Mario 64 which i know was not cheap either.

Sweet! I already intend to get this game day one. I thoroughly enjoyed Rayman Origins, so I'll definitely get this one. I hear it will have online coop, so all the better.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

who knows if they are lying....

nobody knows how many was the original number of levels anyways....

its like me saying... ill give you money next week... then say i wont anymore for the next 6 months but give you 5 more dollars.... but what was the original plan? you will never know!

How many more levels like the "Black Betty" music ones?

The difference is that both Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 offered something new, different, revolutionary. Those were must have games, they were the first game people wanted to buy on the console.

NSMBU is nothing new, it doesn't amaze people enough to lure people into buying the system. They want it, but it is everyone's second game. That's the difference. WiiU still needs a 'first' game, 3D Mario has a good chance at being that. NSMBU (same goes for the 3DS game and probably the Wii game too, but that's impossible to check) is not a system seller, never was, but will end up in the mid-10 million in the end.

That's what I think of the situation at least .

2D Mario is like the System companion. You don't really need it but your library just don't feel complete without it. Like dessert after dinner.

"exact same games"

really? your 360 plays mario games?.. wonderful 101? pikmin?..  yeh you dont know what you are talking about.

ACIII, Darksiders 2, BLOPS2, NFS, Mass Effect 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, Arkham City, Madden, NFS Most Wanted, etc, etc... what do all these games have in common aside from being multiplatform 3rd party titles?  They are ports, many of them gimped or inferior to versions on their current gen counterparts that are more than 6 and 7 years old now and almost half the price.  And I like how two of the three Wii U exclusives you named don't even have solid release dates yet, despite both being announced as "launch window" titles.

The point is that the majority of Wii U games currently on the system are ports of the exact same games you can enjoy on PS360, and the handful of exclusives do not warrant a $300-$350 purchase in my humble opinion, especially when we don't even have any concrete release dates for future titles beyond next month, other than games that have already been officially announced for all platforms like ACIV and Rayman Legends.  Basically, if the game isn't also coming to PS360, then we have no clue when or even if it's coming to the Wii U!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

The SNES and N64 both launched at $199USD.

And Mario 64 was different because it was such a revolutionary game.
