when the console start selling then they would reconsider....

that will happen when nintendo pour their games in.... the domino effect

That may not happen though. Multiple people (EA CEO, Epic Games, DF guys) all clearly believe the Wii U is 7th gen, ergo part of a closing gen and therefore may not expect to see the console to actually sell well. If it does start selling, by that time the pS4 etc may be out and it'd be a ball ache to scale PS4 games all the way down to Wii U hardware - it may not be cost effective.

who said that wii u is part of the 7th gen?????

link?

i didnt know it was that bad

it seems like they are just bad mouthing nintendo since gen is base on timeline....

well we will see "if" wii u start flying out from the shelves....

Wiki it - the references are in the first paragraph of the page. Yeah some people have been really outspoken about it.

Actually gen isn't based on timeline; it's a lot more complex than that. To be honest, it makes a lot more sense to say it's based on hardware, but each to their own.

So....Michael Pachner was right. Wii U is Wii HD.

Then how the f do they keep track of handhelds? No seriously, the GB was around for 9 years, then the GBC and GBA had 3 years of light each, then the DS was around for 7.....

Wii U is 8th gen, Nintendo decides when the gens start and end. This is why PS1 is a 4th gen system, it's a SNES compeditor.

P.S. I'm just joking around lol.

ubisoft, capcom, SE, sega, WB, and so on.... I don't see them getting excluded. Plus Deep Silver isn't making games for any next-gen yet as they don't do that until the console has a size-able userbase.

I think a lot of japanese companies are on board with the wiiu but Western companies like EA and activition dont want to bother with it

fuck that man, the next batman is coming to WiiU but NOT the PS4 or 720

I'm not sure that's good news for the WiiU if it just means that a next gen upgrade will release on PS4 and Nextbox while the WiiU just gets the current gen version that the PS3 and Xbox 360 are getting.

Just like Arkham City releasing for PS3/360 was "not good news" for them because the Wii U got a next-gen upgrade?

Well, it was a port with extras and tablet control, not a next gen game. But The Wii U getting Batman AO is good news today. All I'm saying is that if the Wii U gets the same version as PS3 and 360 and then the Nextbox and PS4 get full next gen Batman games that the Wii U doesn't, that wouldn't be the best news tomarrow.

If there was any kind of precedent to suggest that this was going to happen, I might be concerned. But if you look at games like Watch_Dogs and Assassin's Creed, even though the PS4 version will run better, and be the "best version," they're still the same game. There's no reason to assume an entirely different version of Arkham Origins will be announced for PS4, nor any reason to believe it won't be. It's fine to wait and see, as the game doesn't come out for six months.

Basically, you can be optimistic without cause, or you can be cynical without cause, it's entirely your choice. Personally I don't see the point going through life being cynical about everything; I'd rather waver between apathy and optimism.

Oh well, I wasn't being cynicle. I was just playing devil's advocate. If you don't know, I am a huge Nintendo fan and buy all Nintendo console for the 1st party Nintendo games. I can't wait for a new Zelda, 3D Mario, Metroid Prime, etc.

the batman news are great, i think AO will not come to durango and ps4 because of microsoft policy, but who knows? . Also i dont think that they will release a game in october-november and then release a new batman game for the other 2 consoles within a small time period.

Well, if it makes a difference, Deep Silver is not a developer, just a publisher, so technically they don't make games anyway. Dead Island was developed by Techland (they made Call of Juarez as well), DS just published the title. So if a developer wants to make a Wii U game, they can... Still, it's obvious DS is leaving Wii U out and unless core games start selling, they won't even look at it. The adoption rate has nothing to do with it, no matter what Superchunk wants to believe. They said clearly that their target is the PS360/PS4-X720 gamer.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

What's Deep Silver?

...isn't Deep Silver the ones who made that ridiculously hyped, and then ridiculously underwhelming zombie game?

its called dead island, yes they were the ones. it was a good game actually. the trailer made expectations to high for it but overall the game is actually really fun

If you own it for the 360 and PC.  I bought the game for the PS3 and while I completed it, I'll never go back to it.  The amount of screen tearing and frame drops made that an effort to go through the first time around.  Unless it's tested somewhere like Digital Foundry or another analysis site and can almost consistently run at a locked 30fps, then I won't be getting the PS3 version.

Wii U is lucky they're not getting a port of Riptide.  It'd just frusturate the fans how bad the framerate and screen tearing is.

As a fan of Sacred 2, it's a shame Deep Silver owns the developer and will be handling the ports of Sacred 3.  I can only hope the port isn't butchered.  I have a PC that can more than likely run it, but I'd rather run it on a console as there's no DRM making my disc worthless.  Saints Row is owned by Deep Silver now, too.

I think 3rd parties are a wee bit miffed that Wii U isn't as big a leap over PS360 as they might have hoped. But not to the point of ignoring or punishing it.

I don't think much can be read into the non-release of BF4 on Wii U. After all has any multiplat FPS done particularly well on a Nintendo console lately? And with Wii U's really small install base the likelihood of BF U selling well enough to justify a port to the system is fairly low. EA knows the BF fanbase is on PS3, 360 and PC so why release the game on any other system?

The time for putting multiplats on Wii U is when PS4 and 720 come out, when everyone has a small install base and thus releasing on all consoles is necessary to squeeze out every last drop of sales.
