16bit systems with all the 2d games -> snes or mega drive (genesis).

worst would be the first consoles used mostly for 3d games -> playstation or saturn.

The SNES and Genesis have aged wonderfully. I'll still plug in my ol' Sega hardware and play some games to this day.

They don't call it the golden age for nothin'.

16bit was the sweet spot.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

SNES, but a close second is the gamecube.

I'm making a runthrough of Metroid Prime, it is absolutely stunning. Wind Waker looks better than a lot of the stuff I play today. Pikmin 1 and 2 are other great examples.

N64 is the worst, I can't even play that system. Tried to play DK64 yesterday and I just couldn't do it.

funny, im currently halfway DK64, and im loving it, plus visually is a fucking marvel with all those incredible visual effects running at time...

If i had to choose a system and had to stick with it forever, that would be Gamecube.
It simply has enough power to deliver fantastic 3D, detailed 60fps grafix.

Graphically, I'd say SNES, or anything else from the 16-bit era.

Surprised to see so many votes for the original Xbox. Any reasons why?

Insert for example Halo 2/Ninja gaiden/Rallisport in and you can see why.

Excellent graphics, for sure. But if that's the criterion, why is GCN so under-represented in the poll? The GCN was only slightly less powerful than Xbox, and definitely more powerful than PS2, which is beating it in the poll.

Well maybe there isn't a lot of people who owned GC here or those people think that SNES or whatever has aged better?

Yeah, maybe. Xbox graphics are mighty impressive, in any event. I might add Jade Empire to your list, too :)

SNES and Gamecube. SNES pulled off the most incredible pixel art ever seen. Makes me sad more games aren't still done in the style. Games like SMW, Earthbound and Super Mario Kart are thing of beauty. The Gamecube was ahead of it's time really. Heaps of games for it are fantastic to look at.

Megadrive and Snes has ages the best to be honest.

Never played them on a HD screen though so. Unless you include emulators with high resolution monitors. But that is hardly fair.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I think most people here are forgetting that Neo geo was by far the best sprite pusher of the time.
Recently bought NeoGeoX, and was impressed by how superior looked its games compared to SNES
