They could just be overshipping now so they can use their factories to make a lot of X720s (rather than X360s) in the holiday quarter. That was part of the reason the original Xbox was phased out earlier than necessary. Instead of making 3-4m X360s in Q4, they can make 2-3m, and 1-2m X720s too.

Overshipping?  not this again.

You cant overship, retailers can over-order.  Retailers wont be over ordering a console at the end of its life. 6 months supply?  come on man.

Its hugely undertracked.  Pure and simple.  The tracking in the "rest of the world" is just way off.

Probably Europe too.

This article reminds me of the fact that I do use Skype often with my friends but it is an utter piece of shit with all the technical issues it has (most prominently the fact that peoples' voices become distorted randomly and the calls must be restarted). Seriously, you'd think a company like Microsoft would have it figured out by now (how long have they owned Skype?).

Anyways, good news for MS. Always nice to see a company doing well when so many are underperforming.

i think the problem is with your device. skype runs perfectly fine with me. heck its clearer than phone calls. and i talk with people half way across the world to

No surprises here, except I was definitely wrong on 360 shipments GJ ethomaz.

i said it before and all say it again. xbox and ps3 are massively undertracked and this shipped figure shows it (well atleast xbox)

How does MS make money off of skype when skype didn't even make money off of skype?

Same problems on my laptop but curiously works fine on my Iphone.

Possible but not plausible. Likely vgc is undertracking. Weve been undertracking usa every single month by around 75k each, and last month like 130k for ps3. The rest of the world likely falls in line with this trend.

The other possibiljty is a chinese stockpile for when the gates open, but also improbable.

Very good. I guess adjustments are right after both nintendo and sony financials come out

Well they have been integrating Skype into numerous of other MS services which has in return turned the user count UP which in return makes people use Skype more which in return makes more profits!  (A lot of in return :P)
