Really really sad news. I've always been a huge supporter of hers.

What's irritating now is that a bunch of imbeciles on my Facebook feed are writing "haha she's dead yeahhh!" or "bye bye thatcher! :D" and if I were to ask 99% of them why they hated her they'd be like "uhhhhhh...". Cretins!

I've actually been pretty impressed with the maturity of most people. Even those who disagree with her policies acknowledge that it's wrong to celebrate a person's death, and can admit that she was a strong leader.

"You bitches are too stupid to recognize the greatest PM since Churchill?"

"Deal with it."

For now, anyway. Just wait...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

She did do a lot of good, but that doesn't overshadow the other parts of her reign. I'm certainly not one of her supporters, but I won't celebrate either. She will be remembered either way.

Its also amazing that socialists have the most hatred for her. She was after all from a very humble background. She was a woman. She took on the establishment, men of power from politics (both sides including her own party), the law and the media and beat them.

That's not amazing, that's par for the course. The left always hates most vehemently those people whom they feel "owe" them their support but choose not to give it to them, chiefly women and minorities. Any prominent woman or minority who displays such dangerous behavior as independence of thought is an existential threat and must be destroyed.

I considered her a repugnant politician, but that doesn't mean I'll celebrate her death.

You are entitled to your view, but do you mind me asking why?  also where are you from and how old are you?  You dont have to answer but I ma just interested.

Basically, she went back on a lot of the things she supported in the 60s, (e.g. gay rights) and was a bit too ends-justifies-the-means for my taste. But as a human being, may she RIP. Oh, and I'm  24-year-old Australian, so yeah, I never lived under her if that's what you mean.

Cured the "sick man of Europe" and shaped my and many others life.  I'm proud to say I am one of "Thatchers children"

+1

Respect to her for being the first woman prime minister (and only to date). Being american and born after her term in office i have no first hand knowledge of her policies, all in all no one can say that she did not have the Leadership that G.B requires for a PM, though i do have to say Winston Churchill was the best PM EVAH. Anyways respects to everyone affected by this.

p.s. im a first generation american, father is british and from the north so my view of Maggie is obviously diluted :P

A patriotic & no nonsense lady.

RIP Maggie.
