Forums - Microsoft Discussion - What XBox exclusives would causes you to stick with Microsoft if they only have always on and block used games?

Well always on doesn't bother me much, since I do have a reliable Internet connection and all my devices are always on anyway.
I still dislike the idea to be forced to do it that way.

I will pick the next Xbox up, because of Halo, Live and Fable.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

timed exclusive is not really exclusive. it's nothing more than marketing bs

thinking about it you and the other guy who said Halo sound like like a new breed of nintendo fans in some odd way

None.

I love Halo -- it's probably the best FPS series of all time -- and I really enjoy Fable too, but I'm not going to give my money to a company that blocks used games and requires an internet connection to play its software. Sometimes it's better to deny oneself enjoyment in the short term to secure protection in the long term. If we, as consumers, continue to look the other way just so we can play exclusive games, we're going to end up with a pretty lousy industry.

Although I can't imagine Microsoft would actually go through with this.

Why would I switch to Sony? If that were to happen, Sony should have something of interest to me and it just does not seem to happen. Ms all the way.

Have you ever tried to play on PS3 or 360 during server maintenance? Has your internet connection ever gone out? Do you ever move your console to your garage or grandmas house? There are tons of real-world scenarios where an internet connection isn't avaiable.

Nope. Never ran into service maintenance.

All my family live on the otherside of the continent so it's not an often occurance that I stay with them, I've got a fiber link going directly into my games room and use a premium gaming ISP which uses multiple backhaul providers so there is never any downtime.
If I do travel, it's not to play games that I can do at home, but to drink, catch-up with friends and family, have a barbie, go to the beach, see some strippers, that sort of thing, I won't be worried about playing games that's for sure. ;)

Sure you might miss an offline option, but don't presume everyone would be bothered by it.

Never said EVERYONE would be affected by it, but many will. Entire countries will be affected by this.

You're a PC gamer, so it makes sense you haven't run into Xbox Live or PSN downtime. It happens more often than you think. On Call of Duty launch day, good luck!

Great Multimedia features. I want a great set top box that Plays blu ray, can stream movies from my PC, can browse the internet, and all the other things that im too lazy to write.

Honestly I use the 360 to do the majority of that stuff rather than play games. But the ability to play games is still a huge plus.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

I don't believe these rumors, but if they really come out as true I'd still stick to Microsoft.

Why? Halo, and Microsoft made me happy since the original XBox, I won't abandon them just because of some mistakes they make.

Just saying....I doubt that Fable will make it to next gen without Molyneux. I was telling everyone the game wouldnt fall apart from sales but bad direction and an inability to help the game reach its promise on the inside. It did.

I just can't live without Halo. Six installments, zero disappointments. Unlike many people, I'm still not convinced that any of these Xbox 720 rumours are true. I find it hard to believe that Microsoft are this eager to shoot themselves in the foot.
