Forums - Microsoft Discussion - What XBox exclusives would causes you to stick with Microsoft if they only have always on and block used games?

Considering that I'm a PC gamer who runs Steam, I really wouldn't give a shit if the next console requires to always be on the internet as my internet works pretty well. The problem for me remains to be the business model of XBL Gold, once that appeal was gone for me in 2008, I can safely say that I never will go back unless the business model changes to be more advantageous to the consumers.

what kind of business model are you looking for, any examples?

All I ask for is free online gaming, I can careless if they want to charge for Xchat or Netflix and all that other shit.

The Last of Us 2: Lasting even more.

Guess you won't be much of an Xbox fan.

OT: I will always buy a Microsoft console as long as LIVE remains as useful as it does, Gears of War remains an Xbox franchise (exclusive or otherwise), and they continue to offer a variety of Special Edition machines.

Why not? Perhaps...Perhaps they pull a Bayonetta 2 with The Last of Us!

One can dream, you know.

EDIT: We should play Gears of War sometimes! =P

Halo and the possibility of Rare making something with Banjo in it are pretty much what I would need to purchase a console that blocks used games. But even then, I will be hesitant to buy the console if none of my friends buy it and its sales stink.

Wow some Xboxs users are actually accepting this horse shit! They are actually trying to rationalize it, but oh well they do pay for playing online after all, they already let Microsoft get away with that one just to play Halo.

Nah quite. Nintendo doesn't own Bayonetta. The Last Of Us will always be a Sony IP.

As for Gears - yep. Let me know. I mainly play the original, though.

I know. ¬¬ I was just day-dreamin'.

I like the original, but I started playing online at the third one and I'm pretty bad with the first Gear. Lancer's pretty usseless sometimes, and that's my main weapon of choice. Gotta catch Gnasher's trick.

halo is enough for me, that's the reason why i know i will buy the nextbox even if it will be shit^^ and since i already need internet to play halo it would not even change something for me.

but i could switch from "every multiplat on 360 or pc" to "every multiplat on pc or ps4" if i will like the ps4 controller more as the ps3 controller and i believe i will.

Exactly this.

It's a free market, people do have the choice to buy it or not, regardless of what you think personally.

I own every Halo game on console and Halo 1&2 on the PC, I love my Sci-Fi so that's all that it will take for me to pick up the new machine.

Besides, my PC is online 24/7 with several hundred Steam games, even though I can set Steam to offline mode, how often have I done that? Never? Damn right.
In-fact my Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are always connected too, just for the updates, exclusives and multiplayer with my poor PC-less brother, which over time I've bought all his Xbox games anyway.

What I'm *really* on the fence about is the Playstation 4, my Playstation 3 was connected for the updates and to play Blu-rays, nothing else, seems like a waste upgrading that console just to play back movies, but it was the best bluray player money could buy "back in the day", even if Sony lost money out that transaction and never made it back.

A really good kinect. I like the current one, but completely aware and acknowledge that it should be refined(more sensitive), expanded (larger area, more people), and quicker. It does some amazing and fun things that I don't see anyone else doing. (Samsung is trying, but failing poorly - and another company trying.)

In the way the Wii was exciting and new, the Xbox 360 has taken the spotlight from Nintendo. Even simple things like Kinect Party (Happy Action Theatre) and I am Super on Kinect Fun Labs, add extra and innovated play to your console is just amazing ways. There isn't anything else like it anywhere else on a console.

In my opinion Microsoft and Oculus are the leaders and innovators in the future of gaming hardware.

I like Halo, my buddy and I play lots of Gears, Dance Central, and a few other exclusives. But so many of the 3rd parties are all multi plat it really doesn't matter as much which console you have other than that little magic exclusives.

If Sony could pull of the next big innovation, I would be most curious. But I haven't seen anything that is a 'must play' and will lure me in yet.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

So you have the ability to play steam games offline??

I was actually thinking about this.

Halo and Gears... Even if I was a fan of these games they are from THE most saturated genres of the last many years. I would not run out of quality shooters.

And even if by some twist of fate Metal Gear Solid 5 and Dark Souls II were exclusives on the DRM Box, I would still have second thoughts about buying it.

My PC is always online as well but I have have bad experiences with Diablo 3 and I played the game recently so I'm very worried about a machine that would brick momentarily every now and then.
