Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How does one play XBox 360 Indie games not connected to Internet?

Wow. Who knew they already implented this on 360? That kinda sucks. Why haven't people complained about this before?

Because nobody plays XBLIG so nobody noticed.

It's ESRB related. You have to be connected to start the game. You can then disconnect if you want.

Interesting. So it makes XBLIG kind of like radio and tv? If you are offended you can disconnect and prettend they don't exist. I guess that's one way to get around evey crappy XBLIG needing ESRB ratings.

I love the idea of XBLIG, but I've never seen one I'd want to even play for free.

Well I mean you can then disconnect the console from the Internet and continue playing the game offline.

Check out Miner Dig Deep and some of Mommy's Best Games (I believe lead developer with Mommy's happened to work for a Sony studio).  There is good indie stuff in there. Just a bunch of it is buried though.  I am a sucker for indie game stuff actually, so I checked out a bunch.

Why the hell do you even want to play those crappy games? , I'd not play any of them if they were free.

Sorry, I would rather play the likes of Miner DIg Deep and Mommy's Best Games than Duke Nukem Forever.  Why?  Because they show some innovation, and an earnest effort to do something new and different at least.  I want to play them, because they are of value to me.  I also resent you questioning my tastes here. I also have a program M2AF which allows me to message my entire friend list, saving a bunch of time.

not really, I've not seen innovation , only very crappy Flash-like games with random pictures of cats or generic looking characters, nothing on there is worth it.

What's the difference between Indies and Arcade games?

No achievements, cheaper (most of the stuff is between $1 and $3), everything is self-published, usually solo projects and usually developed with Microsoft's XNA Game Studio, which is free to everyone and easy to work with (beginner's tool mostly).

In enjoyed this three,  first one is penny arcade RPG,  the next one is DLC quest,  it is basically a joke from the game where you have to buy everything,  pause screen, music,  animations, enemies etc.

The last on is arcadecraft,  you basically create your own arcade, rent a place have to buy the best games for you arcade, vending machines etc..   You will not last tens of hours with them but that is also why they are under the price of 3$...
