Forums - Gaming Discussion - Just a reminder: Not all gaming requires electricity...

I have been playing games now not only offline, but also off the grid completely.  All I need at night is some light.  Talking tabletop gaming here.  And yes, people did do gaming before the computer.

So, who else is gaming off the grid and on tabletops?

This is my response to the "get on the Internet if you want to play" and "I won't buy a vaccumn because the power goes out".

Yeah, try playing Risk at 11:30 p.m without lights e_é

You can get off the grid while maintaining electricity, you know? That would be my first though. But, it can be expensive if you don't do it right, also.

But, you know what else? It's not too bad playing something different at times either.

I like playing pen&paper-RPG.

Yes.  There is a power generator in the house.  You also don't need electricity for all gaming either.

When I said something different, I meant the board games, because I don't hardly play them, lol.

Play Power Grid to keep with the theme. Love that game. I was a pretty big board gamer but I dont really like most of the gaming group I got in. Nothing beats local vs or coop gaming no matter what the format.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
