Forums - Gaming Discussion - How Microsoft's ignorance and Nintendo's console put Sony in first place for next-gen success

I love how people are just already assuming rumors are completely true.

Best thing is: nobody really knows what always on really means. In a way WiiU is always on: to update the WaraWara-Lobby or download patches/games in the background. Nobody dislikes that. It is not confirmed, that games on Nextbox need online to be playable.

We received an official statement from Microsoft, via the company's PR firm Edelman, concerning the tweets sent by Microsoft Studios' creative director Adam Orth last evening.

The statement reads as follows:

"We are aware of the comments made by an employee on Twitter. This person is not a spokesperson for Microsoft, and his personal views are not reflective of those of the company. We have not made any announcements about our product roadmap, and have no further comment on this matter."

I think Sony is in the perfect position right now leading into next-gen. Another PS4 event that focuses on the UI, Social Features and apps would be a great way to appeal to the non-gaming media.

Nothing has been confirmed, yet Sony fans on VGChartz, N4G and NeoGaf are already celebrating.

Yeah, you know what-- there are already like 20 threads on these stupid rumors and we really don't need another, especially one that just blatantly invites a flame war.  So locking this one, if you really want to debate a rumor and try to prove it's true, have fun trying in one of the many other threads already on the same subject.

Remember-- it's a rumor and one guy != Microsoft.

Can you blame them though? How many positive rumors are there really for the next Xbox right now?

Typical PR speak. It's not confirmation nor denial. But hey, they kinda just admitted the next Xbox is real in a very vague way.

Where is your faith in Sony to screw itself over? I'm surprised at you...

They didn't deny the rumors.
