Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Another one bites the dust: Aliens CM Wii U not shipping anymore

The game is bad. It is so bad that SEGA has to put disclaimers in the trailers telling warning about the actual quality

Around the Network

That's sad, I was actually really looking forward to playing this on my WiiU.

I know people love to scream about how terrible it is, but the people I know that have actually played it say it isn't that bad.

Looks like I'll be getting this one on Steam then.

A lot of stuff from E3's end up being vapor, or horribly, horribly delayed, or just junk not worth mentioning the first time. Assassin's Creed 3DS? Agent? The Last Guardian? Joyride? Milo?

Still, it's worth watching this for a good laugh (or cry):

This is devastating! everyone i knew was getting a WiiU is now not going to bother. Nintendo needs to sort this out ASAP! My gran said A:CM was the only reason she was a nintendo fan.

This piece of news comes from 4players.de and it's in german:

An official statement by Sega is still pending, but after the last few days the release of Aliens Colonial Marines has been questioned on Wii U, it seems the plug was finally pulled.
As we were told from retailer-sources, they are currently being informed that the Wii U version will no longer be released. Whether this applies only in this country or in Europe, or also affects the U.S. release, is also currently unclear - on the U.S. Amazon site, Colonial Marines for Wii U is nowhere to be found.

Even if the game is an atrocity, the Wii U keeps on not getting games, and this one's even worse as it was an already announced game.
This alongside with Rayman, were both among the strong points of Nintendo's E3 show last year, but they both turned into disasters. Most of Nintendo's E3 was smoke. No Aliens, no Rayman, where's Ghost Recon? Nintendo needs to get their act together, people will no longer trust a company with such badly handled console launches and plans. Apologies are not enough, even if it's the 3rd parties fault, it's their fault too, because they were hyping up things that never came to be and they didn't have more content in case something went wrong. Luckily I still don't own a WiiU, but I would be very pissed if I bought a console for games that were vaporware.

So your argument seems to be "the world knows this game is god-awful and no one will buy it"; retailers probably won't take any more copies because they can't sell the ones they have (this is key--read it 3x to make sure you grasp it); and your conclusion is this is bad for U how? Because it's not getting a game that nobody will buy and retailers won't stock?  And that will lose SEGA more money?

Try harder.

No need to try harder, I know what your agenda is. The issue is that this was a game supposed to be showcasing all Wii U capabilities and promised as one of the biggest games for the platform. Of course I have aknowledge that the game is crap, and that's not the point, but I guess that won't matter to people with a clear agenda.

I know, but this time Nintendo is really missing all that was hyped. We we shown Rayman, Aliens, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Wii Fit U, Game&Wario as games to be available soon after launch. 6 months in and we still see nothing about them. All I'm saying is that Nintendo is being hurt because of all this and that it was all smoke during E3. I know things will change but this is unacceptable.

It's Official!

The crazy, twisted tale of Colonial Marines is finally over. Oh well, at least he like the controller.

Oh well.

Thanks for the info

And use it as an excuse to say that their games don't sell on Nintendo systems? Good riddance, really.

This is all Gearbox's fault. Sega should really sue the hell out of them...

Oh well, time to play some Borderlands 2 c:

Good news,

This will save space on store shelves for the good games.
