Again, you honestly think most people in real world know there will be 720?

And again, why they need a general statement when they already NOT doing that?plus no one asked MS about this, why they suddenly need to reply that?ok,even MS just say"not require online guys",why you think people in gaming fourm won't think it's about 720?not sure why this is so hard for you to understand.

They SHOULD NOT say anything, until the announcement, because it doesn't matter since just gamer in gaming forum disscusing that,it's so stupid fall in a media trap that easy, let them anxious.

Btw why posting a neogaf random member reply to me?

First off, that post I reposted here of a gaf user is not for you per se..just an additional bit of info for everyone to see. Didn't want to put it in a seperate post

and they SHOULD make a move when multiple sources keep repeating this. This is NOT good.

And finally, unless MS was going to drop out of the console business even the general public would know there will be more consoles etc from MS in the future. Making a general statement about their future vision does absolutely no harm, in fact it will help improve the buzz leading up to the nextbox reveal.

on an added note: why do you keep missing the point I'm making and randomly talking about things I never said. MS doesn't have to say don't worry guys always online is a no no in the future lol and I have REPEATEDLY told you the kind of statement they can make. And what are you going on about with comments like 'you think gamers won't know it's about 720' etc etc..I mean who gives a shit? You make it sound like some CIA secret about WMDs or something. Gamers KNOW 720 is coming. It will surprise no one. A simple PR statement can do a lot of good easing conserns leading up to the reveal that's all. Stop defending MS like crazy for a second and think about it

They SHOULD NOT make any move until announcment, fuck the medias,i love don't give a fuck style attitude

Like i said, they know more doesn't mean they know anything like us,make a general statement means nothing especially they already NOT doing that, what's the point to say that again?

So what kind of statement the can make?they already making a statement in fact,it's called Xbox 360.

So every people in real world=gamers?wow what a awesome world i living.I said gamers know, but most people in real world don't know,2 different groups.

A simple PR statement can do nothing other than more fanboy wars unless it come with new console announcement.

Ease on the swearing!

What are you exactly saying, i'm having trouble understanding your post/english.

Ugh, when are people going to stop spreading this rumor? It's a rumor and people supposedly having a Durango have said it does and other have said it doesn't.

It's a rumor. It's pointless to bicker or speculate about it. No, we don't know. Yes, nobody likes always-on.

To my knowledge, no one has denied this rumor. Referring back to the Kotaku article: http://kotaku.com/the-next-xbox-will-require-an-internet-connection-to-st-470062456

"That said, a caution and a caveat: other sources familiar with the codenamed Durango console have told us that they are still unaware of any Microsoft plans regarding an online requirement. No one has been able to say it's not true and some have speculated that this is required at the operating system level and therefore isn't something Microsoft has to tell all developers or retail partners. Microsoft also has the ability to change this type of requirement seemingly at a moment's notice through changes in firmware or networking infrastructure."

The funny part is that right now in Redmond, Washington there are dozens of lowly, minimum wage game tester with poor social skills who are most likely testing the new xbox.

If only one of those people could break NDA and post something here. Lol.

Some of these rumors are very negative though... If microsoft really tries to screw the consumer with this new hardware -- it wouldn't be bad if people just migrated to the playstation4.

Hopefully if something like that does occur gamers stick together and migraite to a better console.

If rumor is true, the next Xbox gives a big middle finger to gamers not wanting always-on gameplay

I'm boiling over with anger right now. If the rumor report by Kotaku today is true, there's going to be a lot of gamers just as angry as I am. Kotaku reported that two of their sources are saying the next Xbox, codenamed Durango, will be an always-online system. What does this mean? It mean that the next Xbox will require an internet connection to start and play games.

Let's hope this is a rumor. Even so, there's a little bit of truth attached to most false rumors. And since I've been in the industry, I would say a larger percentage of the rumors we've come across have been true. If the rumor is true, I would imagine that it would hurt the perception of Microsoft's next-gen console, especially when compared to the PlayStation 4, which Sony confirmed will not require an online connection -- just like every other console ever made.

Kotaku's sources said, "Unless something has changed recently, Durango consumer units must have an active internet connection to be used. If there isn't a connection, no games or apps can be started. If the connection is interrupted then after a period of time -- currently three minutes, if I remember correctly -- the game/app is suspended and the network troubleshooter started."

How nice of Microsoft to give us three minutes if our internet goes down. It's what all gamers want -- their gaming experience to be controlled by servers and internet connection. Because, ya know, that worked so well for SimCity. It's the fact that I won't be able to play a game I bought on a console I bought that's a little scary. And, once again, if this is true, what about people that have unreliable internet or no internet at all? What are they supposed to do?

Kotaku did note that other sources said they were unaware of any plans Microsoft had for an online requirement. Still, no one has denied it, and if it's required as part of the operating system, Microsoft doesn't have to tell developers or retail partners. Of course, when Kotaku tried to reach Microsoft for a comment, they said, "We do not comment on rumors or speculation. We are always thinking about what is next for our platform, but we don't have anything further to share at this time."

Until it's confirmed, it's just a rumor. But it's an unsettling rumor. And if it wasn't true, why wouldn't Microsoft just squash it now so that there's not a negative connotation surrounding their next Xbox?

Who knows, maybe this negative publicity is specifically being released by MS. I mean, does this kind of news really deter people from purchases? It's not like people don't have lots of time to make up their mind... people are still talking about the new xbox, and then if none of these things are true, then nexbox will have gone way over expectations.

At least, that's how it looks to me.

There is no way

This sounds like it's going to be ultimate DRM machine. Online connection required, kinect, mandatory game installs. It's like a PC without any of the benefits :P
