"Feature wise most everything is the same, AA resolution, meshes, textures (PS4 has tons of memory), DOF (I assure you both use the same Bokeh DOF, not sure why that one shot has different focal range), motion blur.

"Biggest differences are SVOGI has been replaced with a more efficient GI solution, a slight scale down in the number of particles for some FX, and tessellation is broken on ps4 in the current build which the lava used for displacement. We will fix the tessellation in the future."

So yeah, this article is bullcrap, and fishing for clicks at the expense of integrity.

No it's not. It's a perfectly valid conclusion to draw when you realize what features are missing from the PS4 demo compared to the PC demo, and your quoted statement by Epic shows they were unable to deny that. Instead it confirms exactly those missing features that Epic, just like all gamers, had high hopes for:

* lack of SVO global illumination 

* and less particles on the PS4 version

Oh yes it is. Epic didn't remotely express that in any way. So they're taking this out of their asses. 

In fact, they've stated just the complete opposite

Exactly. Reading the DF article there is no mention whatsoever in Epic being dissapointed. The guys at Epic aren't retarded enough to expect a £350 GPU to be in a console that'll most likely retail for under £300...

....um so epic themselves are ( in the same fucking article lol ) reported as having praised the ps4's capabilities

...all this is, is an analysis from df stating that the ps4 version of the UE 4 tech demo has slight differences to the PC version

...however a thread like this doesn't surprise me given the op's post history



lulz, if ps4 is less then they hoped for then epic is going to be outright disappointed in xbox and laugh with comedic timing at wiiU.

iTs all about Games not Power, Ps4 will bring much better ad enjoyable experiences to Gamers than Pc in the NExt 5 years.



I think Ram amount wise, it's exactly what everyone hoped for with the PS4 and should last the mile for the entire consoles life.
CPU wise, they could have gone with a higher clocked processor.
Graphics wise... Well. At-least it's not a Radeon 6670 based card. :P

Still, UE4 isn't really going to be super demanding even on a several year old PC with multiple graphics cards, but that's enthusiast level stuff, not casual consoles, certainly not the next Crysis that's for sure.
In a a year or two the PS4's GPU would probably end up being low-end by PC single GPU standards rather than simply mid-range.
The biggest hope I have is that the Unreal Engine isn't as prevalent in this upcoming generation, Unreal Engine 3 was simply horrible in many aspects, but with the bright-side of it being light enough to be able to run on a toaster.
