Games sell consoles. Even if it's a crappy console.

Hopefully you are being sarcastic. You do have a point though, you get what you pay for. What is the 3DS like $150? It's not exactly a high-end device.

Honestly I like the original 3DS better than the XL

Fo realz? My OG 3DS top screen is scratched from the bottom screen making contact and the screens are so small... I would personally rather have tha XL. I also heard the XL has better battery life. What advantages does the original have?

"it functions well but I hate it"
What? You hate something that works well? That doesn´t make sense. But I´m assuming that you just hate it because you don´t like the layout of the menu. Maybe you´d prefer something like the floating circles of Vita.

"Besides games the 3DS has very little functionality. It has Netflix, a web browser and some Nintendo themed calculators"
Are you really talking about the 3Ds? C´mon.. It has a music player, microphone, 3D camera (you can see videos using a converter - I even watch movies on it), Swap Note, FlipNote Studio, MiiPlaza (for Streetpass), you can buy others, like Colors 3D for drawing/painting or a Scientific Calculator. And soon Miiverse. It´s clear that you really didn´t explore all that your device has to offer.

As for the games, there are way better games available than those.

A Toyota Prius functions well but I don't like that either and i do prefer the Vita bubbles mainly for customization. As far as the functionality goes of course I explored my options and I probably won't use any of them. I want things like youtube, facebook, twitter, skype, and an email client, those are things i'll actually use.

I don't understand why people say that 3DS does not support Facebook.  Facebook is an internet website.  3DS has an internet browser.  Go on the browser, and go to www.Facebook.com.  Bookmark the page and you will be there in 2 taps of the stylus from that point on.  Do you really need a special button on the 3DS's main screen for it in order to use it?  When I first got my 3DS and I wanted to go on Facebook, that's exactly what I did.  Not even for a fraction of a second did I think to myself, oh there's no Facebook app on here, that means I can't go on Facebook with this.  Maybe that's just my mentality.

The XL looks cheap and toy like. The original is nice slim and glossy. Games also look better on the original, since they aren't all Blocky like on the XL.

I like the glossy look of the original (i got the aqua blue), but when i hear of the XL people tell me its better build quality and battery. I dont care much for pixel density, i would personally just rather have a bigger screen (makes for more confortable gaming). Also I dont really care much about what it looks like in its exterior, i would spend most my time staring into screens :P

Well inside the screans the original still looks better since the XL has a yellow tint to it

I think the problem here is that you bought the 3DS for one game and you don't seem to care about any others. Why don't you just try something new? It's always nice to step away from your usual purchases to do something against the mold.

Really? :(  I need to look this up, from all the impressions I was given, I heard the XL was better in almost every way except pixel density. I was planning on trading my 3DS for and XL recently too :/

The XL series has always been the best for the DS Family. If the 3DS XL is anything like the DSi XL, then you should buy it in a heart-beat.

Well if you want a bigger screen, and more battery life go for the XL. If you want crisper looking graphics and a slimmer design keep the original.
