Forums - Gaming Discussion - I think its safe to say at this point that DMC 2 will not be coming out.

Don't worry, it won't take long until Nintendo decides to fund it... ::trollface::

It is never the fans fault for not supporting something they dont want. Devil May Cry fans wanted Sonic the Hedgehog. They got Sonic and the Secret Rings. Hopefully you catch my drift. Japanese developers need to focus on delivering with fans want and less on what they dont. Now Im saying games should be made solely for the fans. They have to continue to expand and grow it, but DmC was grown in a way that in attracted no one.

They should've stayed with Sony.

To be fair, the position they were in after HS was bleak.  Sure, make another title, but there was no guarantee that PS3 was going to take off in sales like it did and they may have just ended up developing another bomb that would net them no profit AGAIN.

Unfortunately, I do kinda think they made the wrong decision.  The title would probably have been releasing in 2009 around the same time as the price cut.  Given the fact that they would have been more used to the PS3 tech by then too, then we could possibly have seen an Uncharted 2 style improvement in quality if they were indeed going to make HS 2.  And maybe it would've had a sales boost from people waiting for God of War 3, too.

But no matter, it is what it is.  At the time they made the decision which was most likely to pay off for them.

Their position with Sony was strong for a start and if they had stayed a home grown Sony company they would've flourished with the help of the gaming companies and resources Sony had. HS2 would've been a major hit. They went multiplat and they havent made as much combined as they did (yet again) as they did exclusive with the resources Sony gave them. To this day no company has given them the resources Sony had to create a large scale game. HS remains the largest in terms of production costs and value. I just wish they would've stayed and then come into their own as a respected company rather  than jump than jump the gun so prematurely. I am sure Sony would've funded a second HS.

That bull and you know it. DmC has a style that a lot of people like but a good chunk of the people who play it will buy it used. The new DMC had more contact and depth to the combat style than even MGR. Narrative style Hack N Slash titles are growing in profits away from the old Japanese style thanks to games like GOW. Even Platinum themselves will have to learn to increase the quality of their narrative to buffer the awesome hack n slash action from point A to point B. Everyone knows from Ninja Theory's mission statement that their main goal is to make Story based action/adventure games. The game was boycotted intentionally. Ninja Theory was better off working with Sony and making new IP's for them that dont step on the toes of niche franchises like DMC.

Stick a fork in it, its done. Fans only have themselves to blame when less and less great games come out per year.

Thank's man. As a fan I made sure to spread the word of how bad the gameplay for DmC was.

What exactly is bull? Im not quite sure what alot of your post has to do with what I posted. I dont think a more story based DmC was the problem because DMC's all over place mythos is actually a big criticism from fans. The game sure was boycotted. Why? Nobody wanted it obviously. Im not understanding what your getting at.

He is crying because no one wanted to play his favourite game.

Thing is when DMC4 released it was bashed pretty heavily by fans for being same old thing, so they get a new and fresh thing, bash that too.

Shame that DMC has such a horrid fanbase, as the new DMC is a great game.

If the new DmC is so great then why couldn't they get over a million sales?

should've stayed with Sony.

HS2 wouldve done 1.5-2million sales.

Story was a problem because it was a entire new story, not a continuation of the old series.

Lets face it, until near release the hatestorm was entirely new Dante focused, then as got nearer release only then did other criticisms emerge, the only valid one really being going for 60 to 30fps, but that hardly makes or breaks a game.

Well duh.

NT shows us new Donte, he sucks.

NT shows us gameplay, it sucks.

NT shows us story, it sucks.

NT shows us rich narrative, FUCK YOU.

You're asking me to form criticisms of a game before playing the game. Do you even think before you type?
