¡Ah, se siente!

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Nintendo should put more resources into their marketing. They don't seem to have as much of it as I see for some others.

Beyond the obvious of "releasing more games!" (which actually means release 3D Mario and Zelda plz), I'd suggest as I have previously:

- Redesign the console for 2014. Shrink the chipset to 28nm and give it a sexier casing. Make a smaller, sleeker looking controller (tons of a dead space on the current game pad makes it look bulkier than it needs to be). Enhance the TV remote control functions so it works seamlessly with more devices and increase the battery life too.

- Price drops. $250 should be the price for the Nintendo Land 32GB bundle. The sooner they get there the better.

- Ad agency should be fired. A celebrity spokesperson should become the face of the marketing from here on out, I suggest Megan Fox (actress) or Kate Upton (model). Need someone sexy and hip to dramatically shake up the way people view the brand. And the branding should subtly change to "The New Wii U" for every ad, just to emphasize this isn't the old Wii.

- Invest a ton into indie game developers and buy exclusives from the indie community. This is cost effective. And I mean *a ton*. Like find 10-15 promising indie projects and kick in some funding. This will flood the Wii U with interesting games hopefully within a quick time span and who knows maybe some of the games take off and you have the next Angry Birds or Minecraft on your hands.

- Market the crap outta Wonderful 101. Make NFC toys for it (100 superheroes right?) and try to grab that Skylanders audience.

- If this thing has any prayer in hell in Japan, Nintendo needs to act now to cut a big deal with one of the big Japanese studios. I suggest Square-Enix, especially since they're tight on cash right now. Nintendo-Square-Enix RPG, in exchange the Wii U gets a Final Fantasy VII Remake which Nintendo will help finance. Take it or leave it deal, my guess is Square-Enix would take it, a Nintendo + Final Fantasy + Dragon Quest RPG would sell even more than a Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest game worldwide.

- Since Disney seems OK with licensing out their properties, I'd approach them and see if Nintendo can't grab the Marvel Comics and Star Wars licenses for Nintendo platforms at least. That way they could develop games based around say The Avengers, X-Men, Star Wars, etc. Would be a good fit, much like the deal NOA had in the 1990s with LucasArts that brought lots of exclusive Star Wars games to their platforms.

I like ur square-nnintendoodwa but I think they should get an exclusive kingdom hearts with nintendo characters

We don't really know what's going on behind the scenes anymore than you do, but there WAS a rumor that FFVI WAS being remade for WiiU AND planned for a Summer release.  Of course that was just a rumor, but who knows.  Something tells me that DQXI will be a 3DS-WiiU cross release AND a traditional DQ game, since I doubt S-E will want to let DQ die that easily on WiiU.  They also can't afford to be exclusive to Sony.

So a S-E partnership IS more plausible than it ever was 17 years ago.

I have already seen a bunch of new marketing tools for the Wii U, but all this takes time to do. A relaunch doesn't make financial sense, a new marketing strategy however does. Also, the numbers have started increasing for sales, when the big games come, so will the big sales. As it stands right now, the Wii U is not a flop, and is far from one with it being so early in it's life cycle. The Wii U is actually on par with the PS3 for sales within a corresponding amount of time and even slightly ahead. Just because a system doesn't blitz out of the gate at launch does not mean it will not be successful as shown with both the PS3 and 360, and contrary to that the dreamcast actually did amazingly well after launch and I believe still has the record for most sales in 24 hours after launch but in the end it ended up failing.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

All of this is pretty reasonable, and actually Nintendo could do a "relaunch" via marketing alone. Really, the Wii U's problem is not it's power or anything like that, it's a matter of perception by the public.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo had this 'relaunch' planned beforehand, though.

I didn't know the Wii U came out!
but really.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
