Since you like RPGs so much and asked for Genesis games. You must play Phanatasy Star IV. It's one of the best RPG from the 16-bit era and easily just as good as what the SNES had to offer. It has great 16bit graphics, fantastic music, a unique and interesting story, great characters, cool manga style cutscenes, and awsome boss fights.

There's also Phantasy Star 2 & 3 which are quality games too, but PS2 is kinda dated and  PS3 is a love it or hate it kind of game.

If you have a Master System there's also Phantasy Star which predates Final Fantasy.

There's also Phantasy Star Online and it's sequels. I know that at least the Dreamcast one can still be played in single player mode and there are private serves still running it online. Awesome.

Other than that I've allready recommend to you the best Saturn games like Panzer Dragoon Saga and you are aware of Skies of Arcadia. There are tons of great Sega games. It sucks I can't get them all on one console anymore, but I still play the best new Sega games. I just have to buy more consoles to play them on.

I played Phantasy Star Online, and hated it. I've heard of the older Phantasy Stars, but what exactly is a Master System? Isn't it the Japanese name for a Sega Genesis?

Phantasy Star Online is totaly different from the original games. It's an MMO and the others are traditional turn based JRPGs. If you like JRPG you should enjoy Phantasy Star IV. It really is one of the best in the genre.

The Sega Master System is the Sega console that came before the Genesis. The Japanese name for the Genesis was Mega Drive. The Sega Master System is an 8bit competitor to the NES. It was actualy a more powerfull console, but Nintendo locked 3rd party developers into what should have been illegal contracts. If you wanted to release a game on the NES you had to sign a contract that you wouldn't port it to other systems. So the Master System had very little 3rd party support and died off in the USA. In the rest of the world it did great and paved the way for the Sega Genesis. Luckily Nintendo couldn't get away with their contract scam for a second time and the Genesis got tons of 3rd party support.

I knew that about Phantasy Star.

You know...... I might just buy the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. It's about $20 I recall, and it has a bunch of the Genesis games I miss out on. It has all 4 Phantasy Star games, Beyond Oasis, the 3 Genesis Shining Force games, and all the Sonics (I have all the Sonics, but it's a nice bonus).

I'm second guessing buying all the original games. At least, I think I'll hold it off until I beat a bunch of other games off my to get list. Also getting the collection lets me play each series first, and get tophy's for it (I'll probably buy it on PS3) at the price of one of the original games.

Maybe if I hold off long enough, Sega will also make a Sonic's Ultimate Saturn/CD Collection. lol.

Get the Sonic Genesis Collection and play all RPGs in it, I think it has the whole Phantasy Star series.

And besides RPGs, I would really recommed Shenmue 1 and 2, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Ecco the Dolphin 1 and 2, Streets of Rage 1 and 2, Contra Hard Corps (the best Contra of the 16 bit era) CastleVania Bloodlines (the best Castlevania of the 16-bit era), Shinobi 1 and 3 and Shinobi Legions (Saturn game), Gunstar Heroes (when you beat that game in expert mode you can consider yourself bad ass), Splatterhouse 2 and 3.  Genesis also had some of the best spaceship shooters The Thunderforce series, especially 3 and 4.  Oh, and if you can get Snatcher for Sega CD (although it was remade for PSone and Saturn, but I don't know if those versions were ever translated).

Yeah. That's a great idea. The Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection is a good deal.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a Saturn Collection. The Saturn is so difficult to emulate that Sega has yet to bother putting the effort into it. Most of the Saturn games that have been re-released have been ports of their PC versions.

See above post. LOL

I like owning originals, and I have a lot of original Sega Genesis/CD games (well just Sonic CD). Probably just going to get the collection, maybe I'll find an old Sega game as a ghetto game store or garage sale, you never know. I turned down Earthbound as a kid at a garage sale, now I'm smarter.

Sega CD should be easy to emulate, and aren't most of Saturns games available on PC as well?

Of the games you mentioned, I either own them, or down like them Except Panzer Dragoon Zwei
