How about, white, purple, yellow, light blue (turquoise)

The camera won't be needed for most games. I don't think they'll reduce the max nr of controllers because of a limited supply of colors...
8 player simultaneous motion games are probably not going to happen. That would be quite a sight though.

There is Johann Sebastian Joust which uses up to 18 moves on some special builds. I think regular is the 7 player cap on PS3. But that game is graphicless and I don't think it even needs the PS eye, just the moves and attacking your friends.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

... How many games have more than 4 player support anyway? And what do you mean analog face buttons? L3 and R3? So I can't click them down anymore? Well that sucks, I liked clicking them down anyway, since I can think of quite a few games that used them, and I liked clicking them on the loading screens, lol... I wonder if the "720" will still have clicky sticks o.O

Most sports games have more then 4 players possible(WWE also) and I meant that the PS4's pad and triangle, square, circle, and cross will be digital.

Oh thank god, I thought you meant the clicky analogs, lol... and what do you mean digital?

digital refers to binary while analog refers to gradation.

An analog stick tells the direction by measuring the amount of roll on the sensors. An input would be like coordinates (-81,32) and would mean far left and slightly up.
A digital (d-pad) tells the direction by asking "up (yes/no) right (yes/no) etc". An input would be (up,left) and would mean diagonal up left.

Similarly, analog buttons have an input like "x (32)" meaning x being pressed down lightly, while digital would just be "x".

Ah yes, I heard about that, music only.

Co-Optimus only lists 4 games for ps3 with more then 4 player offline co-op.
http://www.co-optimus.com/system.php?id=2&sort=offline&direction=ASC

Bomberman Ultra and Skyfighter seem to support 8 player offline versus.

I guess large local multiplayer games are not worth making when controllers are so pricey. I bet if DS3 was $30 you would see more devs making up to 7 player games.

its not about that, its that there are few people who would have 6 other people to play with, so the market is small

No, it had 2 controller ports. You had to buy an adaptor to play 4 player.

That's another obstacle...but it isn't completely out of the question. I'm sure there was plenty of opportunity for Guitar Hero and Rock Band to have that many people around. I'm thinking party situations. When it comes to needing controllers, they are too pricey for the typical person to just purchase on the off chance. While guitar hero and rock band were pricey, they weren't 6 extra controllers at $50 pricey and Rock Band was sold and seen as a package deal for specific purpose as opposed to a truley optional thing.

with 2 adpapter's you would have been only able to play with 6 people / 2 + 2 + 2 = 6 /
