In this case, it's about the ratio. As such, God of War was already the lesser of the two. Thus, it hasn't seen as big of a dip. 

Could you imagine if GoW:A actually sold better than Gears Judgment? There would have been a ton of boasting.

But that didn't happen so now GoW fans are gonna boast about the dip. Its ridiculous. This is what I've come to expect from loyal of Sony fans. Petty bullshit to boast about.

Cant believe gears did so well. Diehard gears fans like myself are boycotting this junk pile and it almost made 1 million.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I'm not surprised by the Gears numbers, and I wouldn't have been surprised if they were even lower. This game was made by another dev, and these aren't COD fans that can't tell the difference. Gears fans are hardcore and they knew this game would be different. I didn't really see anyone hyped for it except for the people that started the series with Gears 3.

Very few maps for MP (bad maps at that), they completely fucked up the Multiplayer (The MP is almost as bad as Gears 2, that takes something special). And a short Campaign to top it off.

And most people hated Baird (I liked the guy but I was in the minority). Imagine if Rico got his own KillZone game, yeah that's about right.

The Menus and Lobbies were lifted straight from Gears 3, they didn't even try. You also have to remember that people waited 3 years for Gears 3, the big conclusion to the trilogy. They were stuck with Gears 2 for 3 years, they need something new and better.

Gears 3 was less than 2 years ago, and it was solid enough that people can still play it. Completely different situation.

Edit: Just read CDiablos's comment and it's spot on. I picked up Gears 1-3 on Launch day or Midnight launch. I still haven't gotten this game and neither have any of my Gears friends. I might pick it up at discount some day.

Every Sony fan said that God of War is doing better then Gears lol. Both games did well for them being prequels and at the end of a console lifecycle.

Even with a Superbowl ad and expensive marketing GOWA still couldn't beat gears with no hype, this was it's time to shine SMH

Pretty much.  I find it hilarious that GoW numbers are actually lower in the first week but somehow people twist things around for GoW.  Sony loaylists.  I realyl dont understand you guys sometimes.

Both was prequels, both did good.  Gears had the better 1st week regardless if it isnt going to be as big as Gears 3.  news flash.  Ascension wont be as big as GoWIII

Gears of War 3 sold three million copies first week. Because of marketing Microsoft titles tend to be front loaded and blow out their hype quickly. Sony titles tend to sell like a slow burn over time. This should be common knowledge. The logic is that Gears is not selling better based on history.

Yes, but when comparing sales, God of War is closer to predecessor sales even when comparing it to main franchise games. It has sold half of what GOW3 did in its first week in two weeks coming off of a decline in software sales. Gears of War is coming at 1/4 of what its predecessor sold its first week.
