We have to remember that Varys "jailer" disguise when talking to Eddard in season one was tossed aside as imagine they feared confuse viewers. So, Whitebeard being discarded was not unprecedented.

Yeah no Strong Belwas sucks. They can always bring him in later though, who knows how the structure of seasons to books will end up being. They'll have to start splitting books up or they'll pass Martin if he keeps his current pace.

My biggest concern with his pace is if he manages to put all things to a satisfying end before he... well, can't finish it :(

Yeah, you read The Dark Tower by Stephen King? That was a big concern for fans of that series as well, especially after he was hit by a car.

I am on Wolves in that series.  I liked the start and aspects, but book 4 nearly killed it for me.  I am hoping it becomes an HBO project as well.

If rumours are true Stephen King doesn't write most of his novels nowadays so everything would have been fine

That would certainly explain the steep decline in the series after Wizard & Glass.

Wizard and Glass is my favorite in the series and my all time favorite book in general.

The last 3 books in the series are very polarizing.

Different tastes.  It just dragged for me as was essentially a prequel book and felt like all the characters I got invested in took a back seat for it.  I don't want to take this off track. So...

My all time favorite book is actually Storm of Swords which this season of Game of Thrones is touching on.  I loved Song of Ice and Fire already, but that book made it go from top five to all time series.

Does anyone know whether season 3 will contain the entirely of the 3rd volume; or is it just part 1 of the 3rd volume.

I suppose its weird how it works, after a slightly disappointing season of Spartacus we're probably going into the strongest season of Game of Thrones thus far.

Game of Thrones renewed for season 4

Given they planned on splitting book 3 "Storm of Swords" across two seasons this was a formality, but nice to see official confirmation.

I really hope this happens for Vikings soon as well

Stephen King's the Dark tower is one of the greatest literary masterpieces ever.
