So, after all, what caused the boost?
Retailers slashing Wii U prices or the new games? Both??

Both, but the new games played a bigger role because the price cut alone did not help.

Really? The new games helped out sales more than the price cut? So, what's gonna happen next week when sales plummet?
I guess those 2 new games are not system sellers after all - they only helped the sales of their release week.
Such statistics don't bode well for Wii U.

If you have nothing to play on the system, then why would you buy it? Of course sales will go down, two games alone will not make the Wii U sell at the rate it's selling. Sales will only pick up once the Wii U has a decent library, or if Nintendo starts to release a steady stream of games.

Exactly, I bought the WiiU to gather dust in the house. |
Really? I bought mine to be a $350 replacement to the controller I lost to my TV, but that seems like a better idea!
Anyone who doubts that good games will sell systems (any system) is a fanboy. But with that said, I think people who expect the WiiU to have the same immediate level of success as it's predecessor are just as delusional. When Nintendo releases it's own 'core' software (Zelda, Mario, etc.) sales will obviously pick up, but the 'core' portion of Nintendo's market is simply not large enough to sustain high levels of sales outside of those release windows. By no means does sales = success, but during the transition from Wii to WiiU they lost a huge part of their audience. They need to find a way to attract that casual segment back, or else they'll have to settle for only a fraction of their last-gen sales.
It's all about the game.
